A big fish EDGE with Kerry Hyder, Vinny Curry or Jabaal Sheard as a complimentary depth signing would be good with me.

Okay so we're definitely in the market for a big fish DE. Nobody falling to the 20's in this draft is going to do it.

Clayborn was a disappointment. Some will point to his 4 sacks, but he didn't help much in the run game. With Garrett catching that 'Rona, Clayborn needed to prove he had a lot more football left, and he earned a weak 59.8 on PFF in that expanded look. The Browns can find better.

And opens a huge need

I mean let's not go crazy. Clayborn only played a little over 25 snaps a game. Under 40% of the total snaps. They needed multiple pass rushers this offseason no matter what.

What I will say is that if the Browns are willing to cut guys who have seemingly been part of their rotation to save $3M, that they're loading up to make a big ticket signing, or possibly multiple ones.

If every last dollar counts in their pursuit of bigger name free agents, I wouldn't be surprised if the Browns opted to cut Case Keenum at this point. It would save $2.2M.

Starting EDGE across from Garrett is a glaring need with or without Clayborn.

The only need this cut opens up is rotational DE, which I wouldn't call 'huge'.
This exactly. I can see us adding another depth DE for cheap during FA after making a splash for a quality starter.

Also remember that we have Porter Gustin (with some more development could be a solid rotational guy) and Curtis Weaver who could fill in a nice role as well.

Wasn’t all that impressed with him. Time for David

Don't disagree.

But I will offer an alternate hypothesis: Browns know that there will be a lot of 'good' players available in the middle class of FA, and they might be available on the cheap. They might be able to get someone better than Clayborn as a rotational player for the same amount of money.

Holy shit guys, enough with the Hance memes. It's super childish and just tired at this point. On the off hance that one of you actually develops a sense of humor and comes up with a good joke, let us know. Until then, refrain from hitting the 'reply' button.

You are saying we should be Dunn?
