I get what you mean, but East 4th and West 6th are completely different scenes as well.
I understand if you're talking to a local, you tell them what specific area you're from. But I've heard Phoenix residents correct international people and say "No, I'm not from Phoenix, we're from Scottsdale"
It's just strange.
Saying you are from Scottsdale is a humble brag which is why its corrected, remember Scottsdale is the home of the $30,0000 millionaires. saying you are from Tempe doesnt make sense.
When i lived in Scottsdale, i would say to locals Scottsdale or McCormick Ranch which was my specific area of Scottsdale....now i am in Phoenix....or i say Desert Ridge area which defines where i am at......but someone not from here? I am in Phoenix area either time.
