Browns Training Camp 2022

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Jimmy G is out of a job in San Francisco because he doesn't throw a very good long ball. If you remember the SB in 2020, his poor accuracy on passes down the field cost them a trophy.

Let's please avoid panicking and overvaluing Garoppolo.

I don’t understand why the Browns wouldn’t go after Jimmy G?

The trade for Watson was clearly for a better chance at a Super Bowl, that’s fine by me. Why in hell would you ride with Brissett and not take a chance on Jimmy G for a season?

Oh yea, let’s watch 6 yards per pass attempt from Brissett, maybe it gives Schwartz a chance to catch a ball.
They might. Everything in the media is posturing. Remember, every time you read something, ask yourself "Why would they tell us that?"

The math comes down to "Does one season of a mediocre QB actually help us more than that money will in future years?"

I want to see Garoppolo if Watson is done for the year, but that's more the fan in me than anything else.

He's a worse QB than healthy Baker.

Ok let’s please avoid overvaluing Jacoby Brissett…

Which properly valued is probably the worst starting QB in the entire NFL.

You can win with Jimmy. Not Jacoby.

Don't see where I did over value Brissett. Garoppolo is a better QB when healthy, but I do wonder by how much. Is it worth throwing away the cap flexibility in the future?

I will say it isn't 2016 anymore. The gap between Garoppolo and Brissett isn't the same as his rookie year. Garoppolo had the best offensive mind in the NFL as his head coach and a front office who puts talent on the line and receiver positions. Brissett had shit shows, but at least stayed healthy.

I think you can argue Brissett in the same category as Mariota, Jameis, Goff, Daniel Jones, Carson Wentz, Mitch Trubisky and Davis Mills. I've left off all the young unproven high picks, like Wilson, Lance, etc.

Is Jacoby the worst? No--that honor goes to Seattle and Drew Lock or Geno Smith.

Is Jacoby the second-worst? Maybe. Depending on the offense, I might prefer him over Mariota, Jones, Wentz and Trubisky.

"You can win with Jimmy" means what exactly? Because unless it's a Super Bowl, I don't think we're interested--and I'm not sure I'm bringing the spoon that is Garoppolo to a gun-fight against Allen, Mahomes, Wilson, Lamar, Burrow, Herbert and the murderer's row that is the AFC this year.

The negative against Jimmy G is how he played in the Super Bowl? Really?

In that 2019 season, Jimmy G ranked tied for 6th in Y/C and tied for 4th in comp%.

I understand the cap flexibility, but I musta missed the guarantee that Watson is gonna sign another contract with Browns?

I live in the Bay Area, and have seen plenty of Jimmy's games. I'm hoping to find a relatable moment for all those who don't live around here and therefore have seen much less of Jimmy than I have. You are welcome for my thoughtful and empathetic approach to your learning.
