Caris LeVert: Two More Years!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Is LeVert back in 2023-24?

  • Cavs can't afford the $$$ to keep him and nothing is going to change that

  • After bricking shot after shot in the playoffs, Koby washes his hand and lets LeVert walk

  • Only if he signs for something close to the MLE

  • If Caris plays well in the playoffs, the Cavs will offer big $$$ to keep him

  • KobyAltman! No one else on the team fills his role, so stop sitting on your hands!

Wade provides the spacing the other starters need. This isn't as complicated as people are making it.
No, this is what you said, actually.

"A playoff team starts its best 5 players and worries about the bench afterwards."

Are you saying something different now?

How about Bertans if we get THJ in a trade as a throw in?
not sexy, but the right kind of trade. It would result in 2 playable guys at 2 positions of need. Neither is great on d, but both pretty good on offense. I've neve heard either one being a bad teammate either. My one concern would be age and contracts. Both guys are 30 and guaranteed through the 24/25 season. If they are healthy and it looks like they still have a couple of good years in them, I'd take a swing. It would make this team incredibly deep and not hinder our young guys' development. They are at 35 mil combined. It would take us LeVert and who?

You can get wrapped around the axle on this, but I'm not.

Only issue with Wade startung is who backs up PF? Lamar? If youa re ok with Lamar at PF, and I rather see him there than Love these days, then yes, Wade should start. But with Mobley playing backup center, and Wade backing up the 4 for some minutes, then Lamar gets like 15-20 minutes a game. Another option is start Osman, but he can come off the bench and play 25-30 mins at sf, and move Wade to backup pf for 60% of his minutes.

I would honestly split Stevens and Okoro's minutes at PF. They don't have the offensive skills to be starting wings, but they can at least provide some resistance on defense because of their physicality and potential to take advantage of mismatches against traditional PFs with what little wing talent they have [or in transition]. Just always keep JA or Mobley in with them and have J/Mobley match-up with whichever PF or C is the bruiser. There aren't many bruisers in the NBA anymore anyway, and shorter guys can usually negate a ball-handling big's dribbling. Just ask every little that Mobley tried to dribble by.

Windler? love and windler?....if we dont sign someone through, we lose the contracts for good as we will be over the cap. We need to extend someone and I am thinking LeVert isnt a fit.

When accounting for all of Cleveland’s five-man lineups that have logged more than 40 minutes, the quintet of Mitchell, LeVert, Dean Wade, Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen is the most productive, boasting a team-best 23.6 net rating. The next best also features the LeVert-Mitchell tandem. The third is Garland and LeVert together in the backcourt.
“Just trying to be an All-Star in my role,” LeVert said. “I think as I’ve played more games coming off the bench and playing alongside Ricky -- he has been great for our second unit with pace, ball movement and stuff like that -- I think it’s just been fun, man. We are growing with every game and possession together. We’re play winning basketball. This is kind of how I was taught to play the game. I think earlier in my career, even the last couple of years, it’s been a lot of players playing for stats or contracts. That’s not how I really think. I’m more of an all-around type of player who plays to win. That’s all I care about. When you’re playing that way as a team, it’s fun. That’s where my joy is coming from. We’re all in it together. As one. Pushing each other every day and being competitive together.”

I don't think he'll be traded and don't want him traded. Don't want any trades to be honest. Unless you're getting rid of love.

fukn love this guy off the bench.....contract year and gave two fuks when jb asked him how he felt about no longer starting....taking 50 pecent less shots than normal where he is clearly giving up his offense...which gets you the money.....for defense and to help the team.

LeVert is at his best when he's getting into the paint, forcing the opposing big to commit to contesting his shot, then dishing off to Allen or Mobley for a dunk. He's getting pretty good at that. He's putting up fewer of those pull-up jumpers from 10 feet that he misses most of the time.

He also does a nice job on the defensive glass. He had 8 rebounds last night against Washington, 4 assists, and 2 steals.

I tend to agree with Fedor that it's unlikely the Cavs will find a trade for a better player or a better fit than LeVert without screwing up their cap situation in the future.

I realize it’s a very small sample against diminished teams, but, as of late, our 8-9 man rotations are making sense and working. As long as Okoro and Mobley continue with their improved levels of play, our starting 5 works against most teams. And a second unit with Rubio directing Wade, Cedi, & LeVert alongside one of our starting bigs is pretty dang potent and versatile. We seem to have good chemistry and a team who genuinely likes each other. And every last one of them, all 9, are either young and improving or coming back from injury and improving. I don’t see messing that up unless a great opportunity presents itself

If Levert isn't traded tomorrow, his inefficient ass should be glued to the bench right next to Love.

I hate this guy's game.

There's a reason Pacer fans were ecstatic when he was traded and couldn't believe their luck that there was a franchise out there stupid enough to give them a first round pick for him.
