They dont have the assets outside of Allen to get a legit wing.
I have watched plenty of Cavs games this year and that is the exact reason why I said Allen. That isn't a shot at Allen, its actually the complete opposite, it is me speaking highly of his trade value. I dont think the core trio of Allen/Mobley/Garland will be the bests trio going forward. I think it will be limited. I think with time Mobley will be best at the 5 once he puts on some muscle and strength and I think adding a legit scoring wing will be very important. I also think Mobley is the most important asset they have and I would build around that. Garland is a great fit for Mobley going forward and I think building off the duo of those two will be better than building off the duo of Mobley/Allen.
So in my opinion I think the Cavs need a legit perimeter scorer. I dont think they will get one through the free agency and I dont see them getting one through the draft. So trade is the best way to get that and Allen is the only asset capable of getting that wing.
I’m actually kinda buying what this poster from RealGM is selling. As hard as it is to swallow the idea of trading Allen. And not that I would do it any time soon. If Garland and Mobley are off limits, and large expirings are worthless, we don’t have much to move outside him.

I kinda like that trade, but I'm concerned about LeVert's durability. The guy has been injury prone his entire career. Do we really need Turner with all the bigs we have?Id go
LeVert + Turner
for
Sexton, Love, 1st and 2x 2nd
Would love for Cleveland to pick up another ball handler like LeVert or maybe NAW from teams who are struggling and buy on the dip
The idea with Turner is that he would be a solid back-up center. Bigs have been known to missing time during the year, so he would be an insurance if Allen or Mobley go down. LeVert injury is a concern, with less ball handling here in Cleveland, hopefully that would minimize that concern. The other thing is the salary stays about the same next year with both LeVert & Turner, plus the Cavs do not have to worry about Sextons pay raise. Losing only Love to Gain both LeVert and Turner to doesnt really mess too much with the team chemistry. And while losing Sexton is a big blow, LeVert has been known to put decent numbers before he got to Indiana and his 6ft 6" frame is better suited at the 2. And the Cavs might be able to bring back Rubio around the same salary next year.I kinda like that trade, but I'm concerned about LeVert's durability. The guy has been injury prone his entire career. How about this?
Cavs receive: Harrison Barnes & Buddy Hield
Kings receive: Kevin Love, Cedi Osman, Dylan Windler, top 10 protected '22 frp & two '22 srp's.
Why?
Cleveland gets a wing & a shooting guard, both seasoned vets.
Kings get a first round pick, a wing on a team friendly deal & another prospect. Love is added to match salary.
