Cavs @ Celtics Game 1 Round 2

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This is why though Kobe is a better player...

His ability to move without the ball, being able to pull up off the dribble from midrange (not settling for screen 3's ) and being able to hit turnaround jumpers in the post....

and Kobe has been developed and had his game rounded out by a pro head coach ... something Lebron has been limited by, on the offensive end, here.

This is a game where it would have been nice of Lebron's head coach could at some point see the great benefit a team could have if they as a team, and Lebron individually could learn how to adapt their games with Lebron playing a solid role off the ball.

That's one huge benefit you can get with a true playmaking point ...which Delonte is not, yet ... oh well ...

This is a game where as a coach you could punch huge holes in the brain of Mike Brown, but I won't go there. We should have won this game going away ...even without Lebron James having a A game ....pathetically inept in the complete lack of any adjustments to what was out there for us offensively.

If any one game can prove that Mike Brown is clueless in his offensive prowess, this is a blue ribbon game to show those weaknesses. To just keep with one plan of attck throughout and not try any form of counter, on this level ...the professional level ....it can't be forgiven ...

I' ve been less than impressed from time to time with MB ...but this one just takes it to a whole new level ...this was a playoff game ...where you don't have an excuse of taking one for lessons sake... nope. This was a man without a clue as to what to do.

Maybe, but I doubt the coaching plan was "LeBron, go 2-18 from the field and commit ten turnovers." If LeBron plays even a half decent game we win and steal a huge game one where Allen and Pierce combined for 4 points. Instead we lose and let a golden opportunity slip through our fingers. Coach Brown didn't tell LeBron to shoot 3 after 3 after 3 or to miss layups, or to constantly pass the ball out of bounds, or travel multiple times, or run two defenders over. While Mike may not be an offensive genius, any kind of production from our superstar gives us the victory.

Actually a really good point. Lebron's lack of anything other than 3-pointer and drive to the basket really hurts. He is only 23 so I am hoping that he can develop some semblance of a mid range game.

also a good point, Kobe has top flight coaching. Lebron has a coach that has no idea how to form an offense. That said, this loss is on Lebron. He was careless with no energy, no fire, and no leadership.

When a star player seems out of his element, you out him in a position to get going

if Bron likes to float outside the key, you put his ass at pf and make him pkay in the post until he responds. let him earn the right to float again

what adjustments were made?

That mosses the point ....it's putting him a diffrent position ...one great thing about being Lebron is ...he's going to bring doubles even when he's off ...why keep him on the wing ..why ? why not try one ...ONE thing that might help him break out .. do SOMETHING ...it may not work ..but show you know how to make some form of an adjustment within a game ...he can't try something other than what Bsotn proved they could shut down ?

Nothing ...not one effort was made by our head coach to help out a team needing something from him ...anythig ... we got nothing.

I don't think lebron's mid-range game is that bad right now. I think he's just hesitant to use it and/or not comfortable with it.

for those asking what Barlkely said...

Him and Kenny both were blasting Mike Brown. Barkley said that he puts the blame for LeBRon having a bad to worse game, on Mike Brown. When he is struggling at halftime, you make adjustments to get him going early in second half... mNOTHING CHANGED

Then when that pick and roll with Z hasnt been working all night, and the one time Boobie does it, we get an open three for boobie, why on the next play did Z come out for the pick all over again?

Kenny was saying that for 3 years everyone has been saying that the 1 up 4 down shit minimizes LeBRon's talents.

He probably would have shot better if he had recieved the ball closer than 30 feet away at some point.

The only positive to take from this game is despite some horrible play, horrible coaching and probably the worst game LeBron has played as a Cav, they still had a good chance to get the win. Unfortunately I thought they had to get game 1 to win the series.

Z was huge tonight. Without him it's not even close.

There are many good things about Mike Brown but this organization can longer sit back and let this inefficient grade school level offense to continue anymore. This franchise will not win a championship until it becomes efficient on both ends of the floor.

The huge problem is lebron has to create every scoring opportunity for himself. Not only that, but he is doing it from beyond the three point line with the defense keenly locked in on his every move.

I know we dont have the best personnel to play lebron off the ball but it clearly wasnt working and we made 0 adjustments with our point of attack.

We live and die with whether our roleplayers are able to spread the floor so the other team cant collapse on LeBron.

Chuck harps on it every game but hes right. Lebron has way too many responsibilities offensively, he needs someone on this team to get him the ball in better spots...

His easy baskets are in transition.. That is it.

It's good that Barkley took time off from training to beat Kobeyashi in a hot dog eating contest, to notice what many of us have been yelping about for years.

2-18

10 turnovers

All Mike Brown's fault.

If LeHova bothers coming to the game today, we win. Get off the guy's nutsack for two seconds.

That's B.S. Did Lebron have a horrible game...yes. Was Lebron the reason we lost the game...no. This Loss is entirely on Mike Brown. Read Wine and Gold's post, it's right on. Phil Jackson would never put kobe in the position Mike brown put Lebron in tonight.

From the beginning of the game the celtics shifted the entire defense to Lebron. He literally had no where to go and Mike Brown made it easy for them to defend him. That 1-4 pick and poll ish wouldn't work at the Y. We didn't shoot well but everyone played hard. If pea brain Mike Brown could have made a few ingame adjustments we could have blew them out.

How the hell did we lose when Ray Allen didn't score and Paul Pierce shot just as bad as Lebron.......Because Mike Brown handed the game to them by setting LBJ up for failure. Not once was a play ran with Lebron catching the ball going towards the basket, not once did Lebron post up, and as Sir Charles said why does Brown continue to set picks with the centers and not gibson, wally, etc.

I don't think I can take another year of this crap. As proven tonight Lebron's sheer brillance will not always be able to cover Mike Brown's ineptness.

I'm not saying I don't agree with you, I do. It's just that there was no aggresiveness out of James tonight and when he was aggressive, he had trouble converting. There were so many bone head plays as well. 10 turnovers? That's almost impressive. Mike Brown doesn't boost my confidence for this teams chances in the future HOWEVER this particular game can't fall on his shoulders. Boston proved they could shut down a LeBron who settled for the 3-pointer and turned the ball over double digit times.

I love LeBron James, but if two of those 16 misses go in, we win the game. If he cuts his turnovers in half (down to a whopping 5) we have a much better chance of winning. If a layup is made, we go to OT. As a superstar you need to make some shots down the stretch. That didn't happen tonight, and we lost.

Mike Brown is used to Lebron covering up for his deficiencies. This time it didn't work for him.
