Cavs @ Celtics Game 1 Round 2

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Mike Brown apparenly thought it was okay for 100% of lebrons shot attempts to be created by himself starting from beyond the three point line.

What happened to running bron off screens so he can get the ball on the move or *gasp, closer to the basket.

This game reminded me of the San Antonio series where the other team put a blanket on lebron and dared anybody else to beat them...it didn't happen.

The last play he had a clean enough look and it rolled out. 2-18 is not all because you're put in a bad position. It's because you're not making shots. The shooting % isn't even as bad as the turnovers or stupid fouls either and those definitely weren't on MB.

Pierce will never be a class act. You're expecting too much.

Fact- The coaching was bad but Lebron wasn't helping. In fact IMO Lebron wasn't listening to anyone out there. He did what he wanted and Brown couldn't bench him because if he did and you lost all hell would have broken lose.

No TV or papers for me again sigh.

LeBron couldn't make the shots he usually makes. He blew to layups you usually expect him to make in the fourth, but damn he spends most of the time outside the 3PT arc. It's pretty frustrating...he can't shoot 3's!

LeBron obviously had a crappy game. No adjustments were made to make things any easier for him. We continued to do the same thing over and over.

We have done this for three seasons which I believe has stunted lebrons growth offensively.

Inexcusable to have zero Lebron post ups when he couldn't buy a jumper or handle the ball without muffing it. That's terrible coaching no matter how you try to spin it. The Lebron bail us out offense didn't work and Brown had no other tricks in the bag.

Why did Gibson play so little? He gets 6 shots when the team is shooting 31%? Seriously? You think that is good coaching?

Lebron played his worst game ever, but a good coach is able to pull the strings and get a W out of this.

I am not a Brown supporter at all...However, LeBron is comfortable with the ball in his hands with everything in front of him..

Watch the 4th quarter, and watch LBJ continually ask for the high screen.. He either calls for it vocally, or pats either his right or left leg depending on where he wants the screen set...

LBJ (for whatever reason) loves the screen man... Remember those Jordan plays for his last championship, where he was hitting those pull up jumpers on Russell ???

Or watch the Spurs down the stretch where they isolate Manu at the top... The Heat with Wade etc...

It's the same exact play....The difference is the screener, and their ability to pull up off the dribble midrange...

LeBron is comfortable with the screen, and I don't understand it for the life of me because it creates instant double teams, and he's more likely to turn it over when he tries to split the double...

I agree, and that's exactly why Mike Brown is hurting our chances. Screw where Lebron wants the ball. Brown should put the cavs in a position to win. Continuing to allow Lebron to dribble around the perimeter and get double and tripple teamed after the 5th turnover was just plain stupid. Every time we got momentum and got a lead Lebron was on the bench. And every time Brown brought in Lebron it killed the momentum. We are a better team now. We can survive with Lebron on the bench. It was very clear that the celtics defense was totally geared towards Lebron and they weren't as good when he was on the bench. I get having faith in Lebron, but Brown was not very creative, didn't call helpful plays, and didn't make ANY adjustment.

This is not the regular season, This is the playoffs..... so why is Brown still looking like an idiot.

This was the most puzzling thing to me.. I kept screaming "Where is Boobie?" My wife came down twice to make sure I wasn't watching Skinemax.

I whole heartedly agree, but at the same token if your best player is not comfortable in certain areas of the floor with the game is close in the 4th, what can you do ???

For example: I don't think it's a coincidence LeBron is not in the post more than we all would like...He is not comfortable in it.. He doesn't look to attack when he catches in the post... He holds the ball and waits for the double so he can throw a cross court pass for a 3pointer.

And when he does attack in the post, it's never smooth...Everything is rushed..

We clearly lost because of your blog.

I'm frustrated... I'm going to blog it out...

Now I didn't watch any of the game(besides the third quarter) and it looked like LeBron didn't try to attack as much, or from what I heard he didn't. I'm guessing Boston's defense had something to do with it, but other than that, James was just off tonight. 2-for-18 is just unacceptable though. I said before the fourth started "OK, he'll make up for it now." And he just never did. Honestly don't know what to expect from James Thursday. I know he'll have a better night, but then again, so will PP and Ray Allen.

This game is what we needed, the series could've shifted to Cleveland for games 3-4 and we could possibly lead 3-1. Damn.

The reason I thought going into this series our best chance at beating Boston would be game two ...the reason being ...Mike Brown. He's always needed a game under his belt in a series because his learning curve is so slow. He can't make adjustments in game, has proven it over and over during every regular season game we've all witnessed.

He pretty much relies on Hank to spoon feed what needs done .... this isn't any newsflash but, Mike Brown isn't developed as a head coach ...we have a team running with a defensive coordinator at the helm, and offensively we rely on Lebron James to handle pretty much all responsibilties and everything flpws from him, his reads, and what the players themselves can figure out on the fly throughout all their games together, and hopefully growing from any experience facotrs that come into play.

Any player looking for answers to their offensive games coming from the coaching staff, are going to be waiting forever ...the answers won't be coming. You learn to play off Lebron and do what he feels ands sees on the court, or you will be left astray.

I think we could add players til the cows come home to surround Lebron with, but, ultimately ...the talents will be wasted within a non-system that exploits only the elementary aspects of a defense, and leaves no alternatives at all in place to go to if plan A fails, or if Lebron isn't on ..

It's sad to see, because Lebron could and should be hitting levels offensively on a personal level, but, he is being stunted by a coach that has no clue ...

I'd love to see this team get Mike Brown out of here, and go to a coach with solid credentials ...this team could surge, and Lebron could reach his potential, which is beyond comprehension ...

It's hard for me to say, but, I'm in just the right mood to say what I truly feel tonight.

Just seen the highlights.. I find it funny Ben Wallace WASN'T on Kevin Garnett on the final play for the Celtics in order to take the lead. I thought this was the main reason we got him? To defend on guys like Garnett? Doesn't make sense to me, unless I'm missing something.

Brian windhorst addressed it, they put joe smith in for offensive purposes and didnt expect the celtics to not take a TO and got burnt by it
