I've read it multiple times. Can you point me to the section about draft pick value in trades? The Larry Coon CBA FAQ is always a good place to start. Regardless, neither pick is likely to ever even reach the Cavs or Magic.
It's scaremento's pick. They'll never be top 5I've read it multiple times. Can you point me to the section about draft pick value in trades?
Also...if both picks are top-55 protected, then aren't we virtually guaranteed to send the 2017 pick out, because we have a top 5 record? So it doesn't fall in the protection.
Similarly, unless Portland becomes a top 5 team by 2020, we have no chance of seeing that pick.
Ah, gotcha. Removed that part of the post. It's scaremento's pick. They'll never be top 5
Eh, hard to say. I mean, it puts us in a position to pounce with the TPE or later in the buyout market. But the roster is already pretty full and talented an the TPE can also be used around the draft and into FA. So I don't think that it's a given that we use the TPE.
Although, if we do anything less than 3-1 on this roadtrip, I'd expect the board to insist that we have to use the TPE and that if we don't we're conceding the championship.
In the NBA today, you have the all time best record, and a Separate all time best point differential.
I don't feel like our team is an all time best anything as is. I wouldn't say conceding a ship, but it sure does feel like we're just gambling on low odds

The issue is we are banking on having an all-time best player in Lebron. Unfortunately it is looking like that won't be enough. As it stands right now, I think we beat Warriors in finals, but Spurs would crush us. With that said, hopefully we kill this road trip and that concern is assuaged.
