Cavs vs Bullets Round 1 Game 2 7:00PM 4/21/08

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
30 points.... Tsk tsk tsk. Even Atlanta didn't lose to the Celtics by that big.

What a great game tonight. We were in total control in every facet of the game. I love how we kept our cool and just smacked them around.

One of the keys for me was Ben bringing early energy tonight. I think that really set the tone for the rest of the guys. This is the player we were all hoping to see after we made that trade.

Here's one for Wally World... Wally going baseline to the rack:

Benny Wallace, we gotta get him involved. He can do things for us that no one else can. The energy, the toughness...getting him involved keeps him right.

I agree with the whole playing the Wiz thing. The best thing that could have ever happened to the Cavs was for DeShawn to call out LeBron. Really, DeShawn? And how are you going to back that up, hmmm? By making meaningless threes after you go 0-6? Add to the fact that LeBron isn't even being mentioned in the MVP race, and you've got the perfect "nobody believed in me" (SG reference, ugh) moment for LeBron brewing. (A reason for all Cavs fans to be giddy.)

MB is showing us all why he got the three year extension with these first two games. Put in a shooter (yo, Wally World I know you were loving it!) in the starting lineup? Don't play Ben and AV? Feed Z? Make LeBron come off screens? Who would've thought these things were possible from the coach of an out-of-synch Cavs team in the playoffs? The defensive intensity for the Cavs is absolutely there right now for the Cavs, and that's all Mike Brown. Even Wally's doing OK, he's done an admirable job on Caron, who's been very pedestrian this series.

The Cavs all have that swagger to them right now. West and Boobie look like stone-cold killers out there, Ben's got the 'fro bumpin', AV's bringing some intensity, Joe Smith's bringing the veteran presence, and what can you say about LeBron? He's been insane so far. He's done it all almost to perfection. These Cavs look really good right now. Damn good.

I want so bad to sip on the Kool Aid, but I need to see the Cavs in a hostile environment. I think it's easy for the Cavs to come together like they have in the first two games because of the home crowd -- a crowd that rocked my PC speakers tonight (the real sixth man?) -- that absolutely rocked the Q tonight. The Wiz just got pwned in Cleveland by the Cavs and the fans. Just an absolute mental collapse tonight.

Game three will tell what we've learned and how it will go down.

Rise up!

What are the chances Haywood is suspended for Game 3? That was about as goonish of a play you will see in the NBA. Lebron is in a completely defenseless position and Haywood makes no attempt on the ball and launches Lebron over the baseline, could have easily been a broken arm had he landed wrong.

I don't see any way he doesn't get suspended for Game 3. That was as blatant a cheap shot foul as you will see in the NBA today. And against a superstar.

David Stern probably called it in before LeBron hit the deck :chuckles:

At least that's what the Wizard fan base will like to believe.

I love how Haywood put his hands up immediately, like he didn't do anything wrong. Can't wait to hear how that Tom Knott guy spins this one tomorrow. Maybe LeBron threatened to kick Haywood in the jimmy and the shove was just him defending himself?

"WIZZZARDS!!".."MY BAD"...

Well well welll...Stern ..tell the Washington Post that there's no place in the game for crap like Haywood..let him sit at home for game three..what a dirty play..
The Cavs just sent a huge message to the Wizzzzards...talk is cheap is if ya can't back it up..

Stew on that 30 point blowout..
