You forget that he shares the floor with ton of other playmakers. He is being relegated to spot up the majority of the time. He has shown enough to me to know that he is a good decision maker and a pretty good passer overall, not just in PnR situations. He is very heady and can get to the lane pretty easily and his recognition as far as when to pass is excellent. Zizic would have benefitted a ton playing with him as he would feed him the ball on the roll.

His USG% is 17.9 and Sexton's is 25.4. SGA doesn't have the keys yet, while Sexton does.

Yeah, I'm just saying he's not setting the world on fire efficiency-wise even in a low-usage role in a good offense, and his efficiency would surely suffer if he was thrust into a higher-usage role on a worse team. People are even questioning whether Doncic would've succeeded on this team if we'd drafted him...I think it's a no-brainer that any "normal" rookie like Shai would've struggled.

Who should have we taken st 8
We should have traded the 8th Overall pick + Kevin Love + taking on bad contracts too if needed to move up. Should have traded or at least try to trade with the Hawks, Grizzlies, Kings for their pick. Should have went full tank mode this season from the beginning. Imagine if we had Luka or Jaren Jackson JR instead of Sexton. But for whatever reason, the Cavs wanted to try to win with Kevin Love this season and didn't even attempt to trade up. Now we're likely to trade Kevin Love anyways, and we're stuck with Sexton.

Imagine/dream of Luka + Zion or RJ Barrett, Reddish. Or Jaren Jackson Jr + Zion/Barrett/Reddish. Now thats a future to look positive on. Instead we'll be trade Kevin away anyways for some decent player and stuck with Sexton hoping for Zion.

We had a Luka offer. You were not getting Zion or anyone next year if you wanted Luka.

It was an 8 player draft then MPJ's back didn't recover and made it 7. No one was trading out of the top 7 cause of that. The only question was did you want call SGA on his "I won't play anywhere except LA" bluff or play it safe with Mikal Bridges who wanted to go home to Philly but wasn't campaigning against anyone taking him.

How do you know for sure when we never offered Kevin Love + 8th overall pick + taking on bad contracts?

Nobody knows, but the pick Atlanta got was likely better than 8. What bad contract did Atlanta want to get out of?

Maybe not ATL but the Kings or Grizzlies?

Kings : Lost Cousins might need a former champion like Love to teach the young guys how to win.

Grizzlies : To make a last run at the playoffs with a new big 3 : Gasol, Conley, Love. And we would be taking a huge dead weight Chandler Parsons contract and more if needed. They will get the 8th overall pick to gamble on Michael porter or one of the young PGs in the draft.

No one knows cause we never tried. Now Kevin is hurt again and we are going to trade him anyways with even lesser value now since hes hurt again.

Do you honestly think Kevin Love has that kind of value?

Its not about who we should have drafted. No one else looks great.

Its just that, as of today, he cant be considered a building block and in no way should prevent us from taking BPA if its another small guard.

He is not the worst player on this team, not even close. He might have the worst statistical ratings but what merit does that actually hold when youre assessing a rookie pg on a team thats won 9 games.

How can we assess his point guard ability when we have probably the worst system/staff in the league with a horrible assortment players that dont fit together, when every pass to Burks, Clarkson or Hood results in a iso dribble move, mid range or drive into traffic.

How can we assess his ability to score efficiently when on every drive the defense can afford to collapse and help due to lack of shooting and player movement.

Collin is literally built to fail on this team. Especially while still in his first season, feeling out the league etc. A lot of people need to reassess their expectations of Collin.

I dont get your argument.

You admit he is, statistically, the worst player but Then say he's built to fail.

So, who is this team built to help? Nance? Delly?

Its a bad team and he's a bad player that helps make it a bad team.

He is a player that never should be playing the minutes he is. These posts are meaningless. Your not going to cut or trade him. He needs to work on things in the off season. He is not hopeless by any means. Better talent and competent coaching around him would be huge

Are you guys insinuating that the Cavs front office blew another 1st round pick? If so, I don't believe you. We are great at drafting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Was actually going to say it was funny but it's quite sad.

Like I don't get killing the FO. SGA isn't lighting the world on fire by any stretch. Neither is Miles or Mikal. And on this team, who knows how any of them would look.

It's just Colin looks bad, too. And, thus, unless we see big improvements, if a PG is the best player we take a PG. Cause as of today he looks like he has a scoring guard off the bench type of ceiling.
