Maybe not ATL but the Kings or Grizzlies?

Kings : Lost Cousins might need a former champion like Love to teach the young guys how to win.

Grizzlies : To make a last run at the playoffs with a new big 3 : Gasol, Conley, Love. And we would be taking a huge dead weight Chandler Parsons contract and more if needed. They will get the 8th overall pick to gamble on Michael porter or one of the young PGs in the draft.

No one knows cause we never tried. Now Kevin is hurt again and we are going to trade him anyways with even lesser value now since hes hurt again.

Atlanta was the one who traded the pick. That was the one that was gettable and we didn't have a competitive offer. Anything else is pure speculation. I don't think either of those teams wanted an expiring Love and the 8th pick when a lower pick went for more. If you don't think they made the calls, that seems pretty naive considering we know they made an offer to Atlanta

How do you know they’re trading him for lesser value?
There no sense in him playing this year. Tank in full effect. Lose. Lose lose. Go for Zion or Barrett. Get one. Build from there with a healthy Love.
Hell they might be able to make a run at the 8 seed next year if they get a top 2 pick, depending on who’s still here.

How do we know if none of those team wanted Love when he wasn't even offered? The Cavs made it clear even before the draft that Love will not be traded because he was the franchise and they wanted to win now. Now after another injury, they want to trade him. I appreciate Gilbert as an owner and like how he spends money but under his ownership, we had no longterm plan and we can't identify talent. 2 of the most important things in this league became Lebron is not going to save us again.

Gilbert's only plan since he bought the team was to tank multiple years if needed. But what good is that when you cant identify talent? We never draft good players in any slot or round except Irving and lucked out when LeBron came back.

And with the way the draft and tanking is handled, we will not get Zion because we don't have the core to become a legit team. The NBA will make sure he goes Dallas, Phoenix or, Chicago where there is hope.

Because they had a chance to Kickstart the rebuild and show NBA power that be that we deserve Zion.

But with this weak ass core. There is no way the NBA will give us Zion so we can tank a few more seasons and ruin him and his brand. We could have traded Love for a player that has a much higher potential than Speedy Claxton Jr.

He did not we will be lucky to get back anything. Him Gasol, and Conley would have been very good.

You don’t believe Love has that kind of value yet somehow had the Cavs having enough to move up for JJJ or Doncic?

Only the take a chance on MPJr and punt our hopes for next season crowd have the high ground on the Sexton debate and even then it’s too early.

I'll take that risk over the next speedy Claxton at 8. At least Porter has a high ceiling.
Drafting a 19 year old fresh off back surgery gives you a Luke Jackson far more often than it gets you a Scotty Pippen. Indians took a similar gamble in 2015, taking Brady Aiken coming off a major surgery and passing on Walker Buehler. If you don't like Sexton, that's fine, but MPJ and his injury are a serious concern with just as much bust potential.

Are you serious rather have him then some scrub with a molluck. At least he has a upside

Sexton has upside too. He's 19 years old. It takes time for some kids to develop. Not every 19 year old is NBA ready. Sexton has shown improvement on his 3 point shot since he was drafted. He has had some nice passes go for naught cause his teammates can't make buckets. His defense is shit but most 19 year olds can't play defense in the NBA aside from the freaks. Cause the kid is not Kyrie Irving as a rookie doesn't mean he doesn't have upside.

People are freaking out because the roster is so bad right now. That game where Payne played with Cedi and Sexton you could see how ball movement can really help both of them. They will buy into that readily. When Hood and Burks routinely stop the ball, they have a much harder time playing even a semblance of offense.

I can't wait for both of those guys to be gone, and have Nwaba, Payne, Love and maybe Larry or TT in there. The starting lineup has been worse than the bench this year, and yeah our rookie and Soph players are part of the problem, but they both seem to play better and smarter with other guys that move the ball and cut.

Hood can't even catch and shoot, he has to use 7 sec every time he touches the ball. Shoot or pass dammit

He was but not anymore.

Agreed. A 9 or 10 man rotation including Sexton, Osman, Love, Zizic, Nance, Delly, Clarkson, TT, Nwaba, and maybe Blossomgame would be at least competitive against half the teams in the league IMO. A starting lineup of Sexton, Nwaba, Osman, Love and Zizic would be interesting and a lineup of Delly, Nwaba, Osman, Nance and TT would be decent defensively if awful offensively.

Not going to happen this year, sadly, with all the injuries (there is as much NBA talent sitting in street clothes right now for the Cavs as there is on the court) but things surely would look different - and better IMO.

And that is why unlike others I don’t want to give up on Sexton. He was put in a impossible situation once love got hurt

Add in a top 3 or so pick next year and we are starting to gain some traction. Plus after next year tt and Clarkson come off the books
