Just want to say Porter is said to have a very good work ethic. Enough that everyone is surprised he had such a bad character report

Other factors going into him reaching his ceiling of course, but I hear what you are saying. I have been pleasantly surprised by him from almost the beginning of the year, maybe we have this all wrong. We keep all of our young assets and Garland becomes the scorer off the bench, it doesn't matter too much, I see promise in all 3 and we are way to early in the re-build for it all to make sense right now.

Fedor has a new podcast. He is weird, but he said guys are harder on Sexton than Garland because

Sextons closest friend last year was Blossomgame. Love is maybe his best bud now

Vs

Garland hung out with TT in the summer and shares an agent with him and Clarkson

Garland listens to his teammates better

They had to yell at Sexton

Fedor did say though that nobody knows what Sextons ceiling is as he fuels himself with others doubts.

Stupid article. Sexton is better at 21 than clarkson has ever been in the nba. I do not get the hatred for sexton

I wouldn't blame him, if he leaves the first chance he gets. The lack of respect he gets from the organization and fans is mindboggling.

How you're to tell a starter that he should become a bench player, especially when he did everything he could to win games despite the instability in his first two years in the league. On top of that shown the ability he can improve his game.

Meanwhile, Porter and Garland has a few good games and everyone acting they're the second coming of Harden and Steph. The way this organization, journalists and fans treats Porter and Garland vs Sexton is very obvious. It almost feel like this organization regret drafting Sexton compare to Garland and Porter.

I don't know about this organization, to have doubts on a player just because he probably won't be a superstar player is ridiculous...Wanting a superstar player should be the last thing the Cavs should be thinking about. Drafting a good player, developing them and winning games should be their priority. Everything else comes after.

It looks like Sexton is not under appreciated by Bickerstaff.

"I think Collin is talented, I think he’s under appreciated. His skill set is only going to grow and get better. I think we’re very fortunate to have a guy that every single day shows up to work. He shows up to compete every single night. If you’re startin’ something, those are the type of people you want to have around."

Sounds like JBB sees him as a core piece.

By the way, Chris Fedor has a long column on Kevin Porter, Jr today with a lot of quotes, but this one in particular caught my eye.

"Porter’s passing potential has Bickerstaff thinking about experimenting with him at point guard over the final few weeks, giving him more opportunities to be a playmaker and explore what that would mean for Porter -- and the franchise -- moving into 2020-21. “I think he’s one of our best passers,” Bickerstaff said. “I wouldn’t put a position on him.”

KPJ at point guard and Sexton at off-guard? Combine that with Love/Nance/Drummond on the front line? That might be fun to watch. We'd have a mismatch somewhere every possession.

It looks like the plan going forward is to split the guard minutes three ways so Garland, Porter, and Sexton each average 32 minutes more or less. The versatility of all three to play point and also score makes this very doable.

Garland looks like a Beilein pick... JBB probably has different philosophy and may lean into Sexton more... Interesting if JBB would continue to use an undersized backcourt in the future (i have a feeling he won't)

For a guy that has been a interim head coach a few times; I have to imagine he has learned to lean on talent that will win games. Sexton has elite skills today that could win games. Not saying Garland wont get there, but right now he is JAG.

I was wondering whether Garland had bought into Beilein or not. It would just say something about him. It was in his interest for Beilein to stick around because he was Beilein's guy, as was Windler.

The brighter the lights, the better the competition, the better this kid seems to respond. The game was fast and furious tonight at points and he seemed totally in his element. He has no fear. He won’t always look this good but he is improving with every game. The Celtics announcers said on a couple occasions he doesn’t look like the same player.

What wouldve happened if the cavs invested on Sexton at the begining of the season? What if they determined that he will be the pg of the future and drafted differently? Will his growth be more rapid? For 2 years straight he has improved tremendously after the all star break. You cant teach heart and hardwork and this guy has plenty of it.
