I think Westbrook got noticed early on because that OKC team got good very quickly. Also he was able to show his speed because his teammates would quickly get him the ball alot more than this team does with Sexton.
Westbrook also entered as a better passer and rebounder. But Collin is growing at a very fast rate. No complaints. He does not need to be a generational talent like Westbrook to be a good draft pick and a fun player to root for.

Given what we know of his work ethic, it will be really interesting to see how his game rounds out and plateaus over the next few years.

If he can maintain and even growing on his shotmaking and efficiency since the Clarkson trade while making a few more incremental improvements in court vision, play making, and defense, that would be a really special player.

Equally interesting will be if Garland/KPJ are willing/able to match Sextons work ethic and habits. Their mindset heading into the summer after year one needs to be of massive development, repetition, and improvement through practice.

We know Darius and Kevin are tight, I kind of hope they spend some time in the summer/early fall(besides summer league) working out with Colin

Are we sure that Sexton doesn’t have the highest potential out of all the young guys on the team? He’s having one of the best games of his career tonight and he’s been amazing all season.

I do think it’s time to bench Garland for KPJ. The latter is just a better fit with the starters.

I'm not sure he has #1 option potential on a contender but he is going to be a very good or top tier #2 option. His consistency scoring the ball and the low floor for his bad nights are easy to build a roster from. He also seems to play better the more minutes he gets. I'm not sure where his upper limit for minutes is but anything less than 32+ would be underutilizing him.

I wish they just had Garland from the bench from the start of the season. They could have used Garland's starter spot to rotated Garland, Porter, or a vet based on how they were playing and match up.

KPJ needed the time on the bench. I think the big mistake was not starting Knight or Delly to start the season and eventually move Garland or KPJ - whichever deserved it - into the starting lineup. Otherwise, I totally agree.

KPJ definitely needed that time on the bench to develop. I hope they have learned and will start off whoever they draft this year from the bench. It doesn't hurt a players development to earn that starting spot.

I don't think anyone knew at the start of the season what type of players Garland was including the front office. He could have co-existed with Clarkson and eased his way into the NBA with his passing without having to worry about scoring.

I don’t have a problem starting rookies if they are clearly ready or if there is clearly no better option. Ja and Zion both entered as players ready to start. Ditto with Kyrie, Luka, and LeBron. There was no better choice for a guy like Ayton.

My problem is when teams start rookies when they are clearly not ready to face NBA talent. There are a few guys in this draft - LaMelo, Avidja, and Killian - who I think are totally ready to start. But guys like Edwards, Wizemen, Anthony, etc. are absolutely not ready to start.

He has so much energy even at the end of games. He just keeps going. He is executing better and better.

He's playing in the flow of the team so much better than before. I think I agree that he could be a #2.

It's really hard to put a cap on him. He was active on defense even if not always technically good.

I think his floor is the highest of the 3 young guys. He's very good at spotting weaknesses and he just relentlessly attacks.

If Collin just keeps working and gets smarter about the game, his ceiling is just limited by his size.

He has some untapped athleticism still. His vertical pop is really showing itself. His durability is unbelievable. He got undercut today and got up and scored a career high. He just comes to play every game.

Seems like the type of guy you would want in a Series. He can play big minutes and forget about the last play or game and just keep going.

I loved KPJ making that 3 right after Sexton tonight. It was cold blooded. They both looked like they really wanted it.

Just about to make the same comment @Cavatt - he got undercut and got up and scored a career high. His durability is seriously unbelievable. And he was going after the passing lanes in end of the 4th quarter with so much energy and executing. The guy is not flashy but he has playing so much better in flow of the game and making players better. It is in progress but much better than the season started.

Collin did mention he is still looking at film and understanding what he can do better when driving to the basket. He was saying at times he makes mistake where he could have found the open man on the other side or take the shot which was a better percentage and instead of forcing it.

Really amazed how he has improved from the start of the season.

Every time I see Sexton go on a scoring run, I smile.
31, then 32. If he ever gets to 40, watch out.
Definitely love watching Super Saiyan Sexton out there. That trade is looking like less a L with each day.

Quite happy to continue seeing that game to game improvement with Sexton. Basically already exceeded expectations for a #8 pick in the draft. Looking to be one of the best scorers in the league. Beyond happy we didn't trade him at the deadline. I figured it would take Sexton to be on his 2nd/3rd team to really excel, similar to Oladipo. He's clearly proving me wrong.
