You know Sexton has ascended when he goes for 29-5-5 on 10-14 from the floor in a win (and is +25), and there's total inactivity in this thread.

Don't forget about the 2 steals....

He's gotten better stealing the ball this season..

Biggest sign of the growth of sexton was when he called for that curl screen for the windier 3. It was in a semi transition moment which a year ago he would have take a pill up mid range jumper. Great sign

Im having flashbacks of golden state having Monta and Steph with Sexton and Garland. As much as I love to have both of them, we really need to let go of one to have a perfectly balanced squad who may eventually be a title contender.

I just watched the game and I wanted to highlight this. Loved the b2b sequence starting with Sexton quickly went to the basket and scored. Then the next play in when Sexton rushed to the offense and signaled Windler for the curl screen on top of the key and splashed. Progress as a leader and wanting Windler to build more confidence. Going to be fun to watch these young guys play together.

Collin keeps learning. That play shows how quickly he learns. Boston double-teamed him and he had a couple of rough nights. He realized he has to start passing out of the double teams and then his teammates need to find the open man. Here it is less than a week and he's adjusting. HE GETS IT.

There was another play later when he passed out of the double team and the ball ended up with Prince unguarded under the basket. That was beautiful.

Isn't it great watching him develop? It's like having a very young child who learns and does something new every day - very exciting. Most people slow down their rate of learning as they age but Sexton is still learning at a very fast pace. Obviously he's getting great coaching but the player still has to absorb & apply lessons and he's doing that.

The other thing I noticed was that his eyes are fierce even when taking free throws. He attacks on offense, he attacks on defense, he attacks on free throws. He's always aggressive. The team adopts that same approach - we play aggressive defense and fight for everything.

So glad he's on our team.

Nope not for me.
I was maybe having some of those feelings at the beginning of last season but Sexton has progressed so much since that time. Sexton's current season is so far above anything Monta ever did in his career. I believe Sexland can definitely work but Koby will need to continue putting the right pieces next to them. Nance, Allen, and Okoro are all great long term fits next to our guards. I still believe they are a work in progress and probably need 2 more pieces added to the mix (at least one more big two way wing that can play the 3/4 and also a bigger ballhandler would be ideal for this group).

Right. If there were an archetype for what I'd like to see on this team, it'd be someone who can play like Shaun Livingston did (on the Warriors, not when he stopped here for a cup of Coffee). Easy the most aggravating opponent outside of the Big 3+1 for the Warriors.

Sexland works because Sexton has become a much better play off the ball. Though it may not always be the move depending on the lineup they're facing. Definitely a work in progress, but far from the impossibility so many people thought last season. Even in lineups outside of Sexton, especially since Delly is not available, I really like Garland as ballhandler for other reasons. Sexton is there to scare the other team's defense into following him, Garland messes with the other team a different way.

Them both playing defense really changes the narrative. When they were the worst defensive backcourt, it was a major problem. People keep saying Cj and Dame, but Lowry and Van Fleet are probably more appropriate with the way the defense has worked.

I think yeah, you may have problems with certain matchups, but they have the depth to stagger Garland and Sexton if they want, and then end the game with both putting pressure on the defense.

He's a little like a serial killer crossing the weaknesses in his game off a list.

I think of him more as the Hercule Poirot of young players:

He uses the little grey cells, approaching his weaknesses with order and method. And ensures that his Padawan braid is just so.

I havent had a chance to watch whole games, but has Collin gone for the repositioning 3 that makes Steph so good? I really think that would be a great skill for him to add
