That sounds good in theory, but the problem is that the Cavs apparently tried to trade him and were underwhelmed by the offers they got in response. And honestly, none of us have any idea what that actually means specifically in terms of value, so rather than discussing trades themselves, every trade discussion would devolve into a dispute as to Sexton's actual value, which none of us know anyway.
If Sexton won't sign for a number that the Cavs think is acceptable, and they can't trade him for reasonable value, then why not just have the Drummond tryout here, while he's still with the Cavs? Just keep him instead of whatever underwhelming trade truly is available, and re-evaluate at the end of the season when he and his agent will be forced to face market realities. We can always re-sign him then if we so choose. And if he turns the corner here, great. We keep him them because he apparently does like it here.
