The 2nd game of the year Sexton was bad in the 2nd half, he lost his focus and purpose on offense, but that was because he was being asked to run backup og because Garland was hurt.

I dont blame Sexton, that is a roster and coaching issue.
back-up OG was my title when I was the 2nd oldest guy at the Y.

You know Ingraham is my dream almost realistic sf for this team, but that deal is so lopsided for the Cavs. One, no way we get off the kevin love deal, and 2, we would have to sweeten the pot with picks and/or players of use to get Ingram.....and i am willing to do that.

Ingram next to Mobley and Allen with Garland and Okoro...and Sexton Markadden coming off the bench. Would need a bit more of a bench, but that is a young playoff team that could make a run.
Ingram would be a huge get. I can't imagine the price tag. It's gotta be multiple unprotected firsts and/or 2022's first, one of Sexland and probably some 2nd's. I guess we would have to send Love to match-up the salaries but then we probably have to sweeten the deal even more.?

If our young core of Mobley, Allen, Sexton, Garland and Okoro are looking good and we are in the playoff hunt before the deadline I would probably make a deal like that since Ingram is still young and would fit well with our core.

I think Ingram has 4 years left on his deal so we wouldn't have to worry about him leaving anytime soon.

We obviously lose one of the young pieces not named Mobley to get this done, but I agree Ingram is perfect for our roster.

One thing to keep in mind with Ingram: he's potentially one more blood clot away from retirement. And those things can strike without warning. Think Chris Bosh.

I'm probably overly sensitive to the risk because of personal experience, but I'd really want the all-clear from the medical staff before proceeding with a trade, more so than I normally would.

Its odd you see him running the offense. His shot looks improved and it was good before, he looks more fluid and is dribbling the ball less. But he is running the offense much less. The offense is running almost entirely through Garland and Rubio.

But that is ok, the coach is no longer using Sexton as a pg except when Garland was hurt he was backup pg some. This is encouraging because Sexton is a sg, not a pg or backup pg.

I am not quick to get rid of Sexton for nothing, and think he deserves the contract he wants and should have been extended if he wanted 4/80. If he is our starting SG or instant offense of the bench, Sexton is a good player with ice in his viens, elite scorer and those are all valuable traits.

But in no way is he showing signs becoming a pg, sure he had a few nice passes, one wrap around pass that comes to mind, but thats just good basketball, its not suddenly becoming a pg. But that is ok, he still has value.
When Garland was out and Rubio was resting Sexton got some burn running the offense. I'm not sure if you were watching or not (I recall something about you being high as fuck but not sure which night) but what I saw was Sexton attacking, drawing the defense, then he looked to pass first. The passes were on time and on target to guys who were open but they missed most of the shots. Sexton didn't over-dribble, he had direction and purpose, he had a plan. Those stretches were not insignificant and Sexton looked like he learned a thing or 2 from Rubio in those minutes.

Then, Bickerstaff just pulled the plug on Sexton, for what reason I have no idea. Then he played Garland for extended minutes with Rubio, which baffles me as to why he would do that. Garland proceeded to suck on both ends while Sexton rode the pine with 5 fouls. I could understand going with Rubio and Okoro for defense, but Garland was dismal on defense and doing nothing on offense and I worried we'd give up the lead until BB benched Garland and brought Okoro back in to secure the win.

Isn't that when Sexton drove and turned the ball over near the baseline, didn't run down the resulting transition and the Hornets scored? I think that was the game/play that Bickerstaff called Sexton over said something to him about it, Colin started walking away seemingly without saying anything or acknowledging it and the JB pulled him?

Why the hell would NO trade Ingram???
That's the rub. They probably wouldn't unless they have a crap year and think they are getting more/better assets who are younger and cheaper back in return. We would seemingly have to give up some combination of high-end young players on rookie deals and future 1sts..

the most hilarious thing about Sexton is that he's a little guy who has "big" like stats and can be a threat from 3.
he shouldn't be putting people on posters, but give him the chance, that's what he does.

This is why I like the guy. if the Cavs get a wing that can whoop ass, Sexton will shine.

I'm sure there's other guys in the league this can be said about but if Collin was 4-5 inches taller, I am near certain he'd be a top 10-15(perhaps higher) offensive player in the NBA for about 8-10 seasons straight.

Imagine that skills package, determination, and aggression with a 6'6" frame.
