If they want to tank they should play him more than 20mins a night

Definitely would trade any valuable assets for Sexton before Hield, without a doubt. I think the Lakers are going to wait for a "distressed asset" to become available and hope that they can make out like Philly did in the Harden trade.

I wonder, too, if the market will cool down a little bit and teams can get away with, for example, top 3 protecting or top 4 protecting etc. This whole unprotected or nothing view out of Utah (and elsewhere) is crazy.
Well , in light of the current Sixers record, perhaps Hardin himself will ask for a trade..

I said I wouldn't watch any bad Utah basketball this season but they've been fantastic beating both Denver and Minnesota. There's no way they can sustain that level of play. Both Lauri and Sexton have been really good and are on bargain contracts. The Utah telecast interviewed Sexton's dad the other night and said Conley has been a godsend for Collin. He's learned more mentoring under Conley for a few weeks than he had during the entirely of his NBA career. I'm assuming Ainge eventually trades some of his vets but Sexton is currently Conley's backup.

Wouldn't be surprised if Ainge can get a big return for Sexton if he puts him on the block. Teams like Dallas and Lakers could definitely use him. Still think Koby missed on trading him a few years ago when he could've gotten a good return. It ultimately worked out using his FA salary as a trade ballast in the Mitchell deal so it is what it is.

I think Delly helped him some but their games are so different and they are built physically so different that I'm not sure how translatable Dellys NBA experience was to Sexton. I remember hearing that George Hill had no interest mentoring anyone. Brandon Knight was trying to make a comeback vs trying to help mentor guys. Then Sexton didn't get much time with Rubio before getting injured.

It makes a lot of sense that Conley has helped Sexton alot because the stage of his career he is at. Conley was also a quick point guard but has the passing and defense wisdom to help Sexton. Hopefully for Sexton, Conley doesn't traded before he can soak up as much as he can from him.

Collin Sexton was never fetching a big return. He was thought of as an empty stats guy on a horrible team and then he got injured when he had the chance to prove that notion wrong.

Sexton injured again. Seems like he was an ironman his first few years with the Cavs and now he can't catch a break with the injuries. The Jazz are trying to reprogram his entire game too. Hope the best for Collin but glad I avoided him in fantasy this season.

Was about to ask why he was seeing a decrease in minutes, as I haven't really watched the Jazz this season.

Tough break for him, hope he recovers quickly. That being said... I'm glad somebody else is paying him.

I feel bad for Sexton.

He doesn't care about the money. He wants to be the best player he can be, and unfortunately he is gonna be battling for the entirety of his career.

His body failed him and this imbalance will lead to other issues down the line. He lost a fair bit of explosiveness in all facets. He is getting blocked left and right and has problems blowing by guys. I hope he can recover.

I think he is on a minutes restriction before his current injury. Also I think they want to pump up Conley and Clarkson's value so it goes hand in hand. Let Sexton come back slowly then increase his minutes once they move either Conley or Clarkson.

Clarkson especially could gain value from being a starter and playing starter minutes. Even though most of the league would view him as a sixth man, the ability to potentially negotiate a trade with him as a starter or even a fringe starter could be the difference between a 1st round pick vs two random 2nd round picks.
