Sexton was 26-4-6-2 tonight but he needs to work on his free throws though......Even,though he was 3-5 tonight.
Yeah the free throws were bad. He looked good
It’s just crazy what he is starting to do with that efficiency. I know we won’t ever see Love, but imagin if we had the Love of old playing with Sexton. It would open up so much space, and I am sure would add 1-2 assists a game. I just think he could be a 28+ and 6 assist guy with better shooting around him.
That's the problem though, that's not a good shot for him to be taking at the third-highest volume in the league.
Yes, but he's starting to get the hang of lobbing to Allen or Nance for dunks instead of shooting the floater. It's not there yet but it's coming. He's also learning how to hit the brakes and get fouled from behind. When you look at shooting percentages you also have to factor in how many assists did the player get on that shot, how many fouls did he draw, and how many times his shot was blocked or stripped or he got called for a charge. That's the problem though, that's not a good shot for him to be taking at the third-highest volume in the league.
He's shooting sub-50% and you don't draw many fouls on floaters. He's good at the shot relative to the rest of the league, but that doesn't make it a good shot for him to take as often as he does.
He's an incredibly skilled shotmaker, but he's not making the most of his current abilities due to his shot selection.
