Damn, Jimmy G this is some serious good quarterbacking.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Drew Brees will play longer than Tom Brady. Brady gets hit way more.

Why do people feel that the Pats are higher on Brissett than Jimmy?

I would assume they are high on both of them.

They liked him enough to take him in the 3rd round despite having Jimmy already. That seemed to be the Patriots forecasting in preparation for this very offseason where they may be cashing in Jimmy for assets. I'm sure they really do love Garappolo, but they made that pick knowing Tom was still going to be playing when Jimmy's contract would be coming up.

For quite some time I actually thought his last name was Brisket

Legally it is. A few years back, he made the change. Reports regarding the name change surfaced pre-draft and did have discussion about it in his private interviews with teams.

Boom. Roasted.

This is the reason CLE cannot get caught up in the Garrett hype and must evaluate the QB's on their merits. If they believe there is a franchise QB there, they must consider taking him at #1; it cannot be left to "whoever falls to 12".

Who can say conclusively that Goff is better that Watson or Trubisky? I'm sure there are many armchair experts who think they can, but CLE cannot make a final decision until the QB pro-days, and more importantly the exclusive workouts.

If Garrett is determined to be the best option at that point, then so be it. But solving the QB conundrum will remain the priority until the problem is solved.

If a QB doesn't show enough on the field to be already in the conversation for No. 1, a Pro Day in shorts shouldn't be enough to put them there. Maybe as a tiebreaker...sure. Every little bit of info helps. But none of those guys are generally considered to be at that level right now, and a Pro Day shouldn't trump what they did on the field for years.

In the case of Watson, what he did on the field was get the job done. What did Goff (and for that matter, 2016 Garrett) do?

There is nothing that translates more for a college QB to the NFL than wins, moxie, and getting the job done!

Be exponentially better at football.
We will agree to disagree, as further discussion here is pointless. its on the Browns staff making millions to figure it out. I still root for my team to get it right, whatever decision they make.

Agree.

If what Watson did on the field was enough, then the Pro Day shouldn't be necessary to put him into the conversation at No. 1.

The point is that picking a guy No. 1 based on his Pro Day is...not smart. If the claim is that what he did during the season justifies making him the No. 1, that's a different debate.

Manning was coming off a neck injury and only produced cause he was on HGH. Now if Brady gets neck surgery than we can compare those two

Manning HGH allegation from the guy insisting that Brady & the Pats never broke any rule. :chuckle: C'mon mannnn.
