I like the effort he gives on defense.

DG came into the league pudgy and weak, but has improved his body composition. Still has work to do to get stronger. Once he gets stronger, physicality and stronger wings won't bother him as much and he will be an above average defender. The will and effort are already there. He said the team's identity is defense, so he seems fully on-board and doesn't want to be just an offensive player too.

It seems like he has lost a gear on the offensive end for about month.

It's not a month, but about 2+ weeks. His 3 point shot is gone and he has been inconsistent in generally all phases except defense, which has been a better. My guess he is gassed. He wore out even quicker last year. Maybe next year he will have stamina to play 70-75 games with the necessary efficiency. 2 weeks off may do him some good.

He's made just 11 of his last 45 threes - under 25%. He was 1-for-6 in the 2-point loss to the Hawks. I wonder what's going on. If he was worn out his defense would show it.

Maybe it just seems like this, but Garland's shooting percentage and assist:turnover ration in the last 5 minutes of games has got to be among the worst in the league.

I have no confidence that Garland will make make the big shot or the right decision during winning time.
