About your earlier conversation:

Sexton is going to get his extension here. Point blank. Whether it’s an extension this summer or a deal after his 4th year, it will kick in the same season(22-23) either way.

Garland doesn’t need a decision made on him here long term for 2.5 years, in the summer after his fourth season(July 2023). 200 more games that they can play together before we need to make these final type decisions.

With so much potential time and evidence to still be developed and grown into, why go so hard line right now on trying to define with absolute certainty what they can and can not do together based on just an 80 game sample size.

Plus, to get things back to Dean Wade, we might need to save our Super Max for him anyways

Dean credibly guarded Simmons. I think Sabonis will put him in some bad positions, but maybe it doesn't matter if they play team defense like they have been the past couple of games. Embiid went off and it wasn't enough. Let's see Sabonis get 40 if he can

These posters that want to break up Sexland in order to field a championship team...
The Cavs have very, very little shot of ever winning another championship unless a miracle happens (Another Lebron shows up or some team gifts us prime Kawhi in a trade).
Considering where the Cavs have been the past two seasons I would love to root for a Utah or Toronto (pre or post Kawhi) or Portland that consistently makes the playoffs. All these teams start small backcourts. The Cavs have started putting together the right pieces in Allen, Nance, Windler, and Okoro that can help our guards fluorish too. Sure in a perfect world we would be starting Curry and Klay archetypes in the backcourt but unfortunately 6'-6" guards with Klay's skills on both ends of the court are very rare and I can't think of another in the league.
Gilbert is the 2nd richest owner and made another killing in the stock market yesterday with Rocket. He can afford to pay both players if it comes to it. Sexton and Garland truly seem to like each other too..it's just certain fans that want to break them up because physically they don't meet a certain standard that is almost impossible to meet.
Right. Though I prefer Kyrie as a basketball player over everyone on this current team....
I prefer this current team over any of those teams Kyrie played on pre-LeBron. It was basically Kyrie and TT, and occasionally Dion.
We all know what Kyrie vs. Dion was; those two NEEDED to be split up. to the point I was actually hoping the Cavs picked McLemore one of those years.

I take Sexton over Kyrie because of availability. That is all.

Any chance they put Wade on Turner, and Allen on Sabonis? Turner is a bit bigger, but the difference isn't that much and Turner is much less of an offensive threat. Maybe not to start the game, but if Sabonis is killing us, I could see JB making that switch.

For a physical shot blocker, Turner just isn't all that aggressive. If a guy like Wade just stayed in front of him and contested 3's I think he could do a good job.

I haven't seen a guy with the length of Allen on Sabonis. They are usually too slow. Allen has the quickness and length. Sabonis is so strong, I do think putting a different kind of look on him is a good idea.

I don't know the ins and outs of Indian's slide. I checked the standings and they are 9th in the east after a hot start.

If the Cavs can continue shooting 3's like this and defend the other guys it won't matter what Sabonis does.

I thought Wade showed improvement in his aggressiveness versus Houston. He jacked up some threes without hesitation, and even though they weren't going down it was a good sign. According to Sexton Wade's teammates are egging him on to let those shots go.

Looks like Dwade 2 is getting more fans. Welcome to the bandwagon.

i agree with you there's a lot of time before the cavs really have to make a decision, and it is the reason why i am disappointed with folks trying to break it up.

a small backcourt is doable in today's nba as long as that backcourt can dribble and shoot, two things our guards can do. it remains to be seen if the defensive improvement this year is a fluke or is actually sustainable. for me, next season will really answer if sexland will work.

Gaining weight in college led to foot injuries. He needs to stay right where he’s at weight wise.

I posted this elsewhere, but the masses should see it too.

The Sabonis highlight reel of this game is going to be posted on Pornhub under the title Lithuanian fucks skinny blonde co-ed.

Wow that is disgusting. And not funny. Obviously you do not have a daughter. You’re such a Cuomo

I think the worry would be Sabonis getting Allen in foul trouble.
