The difference between the raptors backcourt and ours is our two short guys both suck at defense and theirs don’t. I don’t think the pair will ever work as starters unless they improve tremendously on defense. Sexton playing with a taller better defending pg + having Garland lead the bench would work better

Same with the Jazz smaller backcourt, Mike Conley is an outstanding defender. I highly doubt Garland will ever develop into a defender even close to that. Sexton maybe but he hasn’t shown much evidence pointing in that direction

Except they both have gotten better from last year to now than the difference between those raptor guys and Sexland currently. So, you don't really know that they can't both be a lot better. They have already gotten a lot better.

Sexton is worlds better on ball, but is still dying on screens. He needs to increase his off ball awareness and work on getting through screens. Who's the guard under 22 that is a better defender than Kyle Lowry?

Darius did a great job on Seth Curry the other night holding him 1 for 13 I believe. He did great chasing him around screens and contesting.

2 and 3 year guys not as good as a 14 year vet or 5 year vet with 4 years college experience is not surprising at all. What is surprising is how both small guards have been a part of top 5 defense over the course of the year even with a caveat of a an absolutely horrid stretch of 10 games against teams sporting a .58 win percentage with Drummond dogging it.

Dean is 5-0 as a starter if the Cavs win tonight. Any team calling about him has to agree to take Drummond off our hands before we'll discuss Wade.

We will need any protections lifted on that pick if Dean is included.

Sabonis might be trying to duck out from having the face off against Wade.
5-straight. Could you imagine? You'd think that LeBron guy from Cleveland lore was back on the team.

In all seriousness, this would be a terrific confidence-boost for this team. To put together 5-wins in a row after a brutal month of February would go along way to re-establishing the belief around the franchise. As long as the "core" keep putting in work and offering significant team contributions, I'm happy.

Let's get this dub!

He has a very sweet stroke. Good feet, active hands, head on a swivel.

can’t ask for much more. Other than JBB should’ve started him earlier!

After one half, he's outplaying Sabonis? Can he play small forward?

OK I'll rephrase the question. can he defend the small forward spot?
