I would love to keep him out there with either Nance Jr. or Love. Okoro can play at one of the guard spots. I think the line up would be a sold one.

@Comeback kid
Your guy is doing great. Must be proud. Easter to see him to continue to match up against different types of players so we can get the full picture of what his role can be long term.

Is this the weight that he played at in college or is this the slimmest he’s ever been?

I think he’s now at his college weight. I thought he was getting heavier collecting splinter time a month ago. But I can see he’s getting his bounce back.

OK I'll rephrase the question. can he defend the small forward spot?
Some 3’s would give him trouble. But on the other side someone on their small ball team would have to keep him off the boards and deal with him in the mid-post where he is very good. We haven’t seen that part of his game, but watch his Canton highlight reel. He’s very good from 5-15 feet.

His defensive stops and able to stay ground and contest especially towards the end when Brogdon couldn’t make a shot was impressive. He was able to force a bad a shot couple times today. And he made 5 3s.

I believe I posted back almost 2 yrs ago in summer league where he was frustrated for his injury at end of his junior year in college. He really worked on his shooting because he wasn’t that great of a FT shooter at first too. But he worked his game spending lots of shooting (I’m sure @Comeback kid will know more) and improved his FTs dramatically from 60 to close to 80 percent. And it really shows how good a shooter he can be and is really showing it. Keep up the confidence because he can play both ends.

He shot 45% in high school, 40% in college, and is now at 42.3% on 3’s. He did struggle a little on ft’s his first two years in college at 66%. But that’s not him really. I think it was just a concentration thing early that’s been corrected. Defense is just as solid as it gets. Great lateral quickness and plays with his torso and not his hands. Not easy to ball fake which really confuses NBA guys who are used to guys leaving their feet trying to block everything in sight. And he’s as good at getting a body on box outs as it gets. Count how many perfect box outs he gets and then allows a teammate to sweep in uncontested for an easy rebound. Too bad there’s no stats on being fundamentally sound.

So with his senior year at Kansas State, he was actually injured early in the year(mid december), came back and did his best to play through that and then re-injured(or new injury) that caused him to miss the BIG12 tourney and NCAA tourney?

Seems likely that without those injuries senior year he would have been a drafted player.

And fractured his metatarsal near the end of his junior year as well. Played with a broken foot against Kentucky in the sweet sixteen game. He’s not a Kevin Love. He played with a broken foot his junior year and his senior year completely tore the fascia in his right foot and only missed a couple weeks.He was easily a draft pick without those two injuries.

So what you're telling us is that we should STFB to be massively disappointed when he inevitably gets injured....

(Sorry, couldn't resist)

You’ll never know if he has a calf strain. It would take a bone sticking out to get him not to be playing. He’s now played two years without missing a game!

Playing great. Wish he got one more 3 lol
