Absolutely

Some 3’s would give him trouble. But on the other side someone on their small ball team would have to keep him off the boards and deal with him in the mid-post where he is very good. We haven’t seen that part of his game, but watch his Canton highlight reel. He’s very good from 5-15 feet.OK I'll rephrase the question. can he defend the small forward spot?
So with his senior year at Kansas State, he was actually injured early in the year(mid december), came back and did his best to play through that and then re-injured(or new injury) that caused him to miss the BIG12 tourney and NCAA tourney? He shot 45% in high school, 40% in college, and is now at 42.3% on 3’s. He did struggle a little on ft’s his first two years in college at 66%. But that’s not him really. I think it was just a concentration thing early that’s been corrected. Defense is just as solid as it gets. Great lateral quickness and plays with his torso and not his hands. Not easy to ball fake which really confuses NBA guys who are used to guys leaving their feet trying to block everything in sight. And he’s as good at getting a body on box outs as it gets. Count how many perfect box outs he gets and then allows a teammate to sweep in uncontested for an easy rebound. Too bad there’s no stats on being fundamentally sound.

Seems likely that without those injuries senior year he would have been a drafted player.
And fractured his metatarsal near the end of his junior year as well. Played with a broken foot against Kentucky in the sweet sixteen game. He’s not a Kevin Love. He played with a broken foot his junior year and his senior year completely tore the fascia in his right foot and only missed a couple weeks. He was easily a draft pick without those two injuries.
