It can't be hypocrisy unless its apples to apples. Bauer had a long history of publicly bullying women before his suspension.
But, unlike Clevinger, Bauer instantly went into attack mode. He also ADMITTED that he did it, partly while she was unconscious, his only defense was that she asked for it. He has kept himself in the headlines, instead of keeping a low profile. He has attempted to very publicly intimidate any and everyone that crosses him. Basically, he dared MLB to suspend him. MLB took him up on it.
Also, Clevinger has yet to play a game.
Go ahead. Make believe that Bauer is an innocent victim, a great guy in the wrong place at the wrong time.
How bad is he? Well, he's a CY winner that can be had for league minimum on a no risk deal, but not one team has jumped at the chance so far.
But if you really want to talk about unfair, talk about Callaway. A report came out about his harassment of women on Feb 1st, 2021. No violence, just harassment. He was suspended by his team immediately. MLB suspended him in May for a season and a half. As far as I know, no MLB team has hired him.
Callaway is scum, too. But he's never been accused of sexual violence, nor violence of any kind that I know of. Yet, he was suspended for as long as Bauer.
How is that fair?
