Game 44 | Cavaliers vs. Lakers | January 21, 2010 | 8:00 EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Wow, what a defensive effort and strong LBJ clutch performance to beat the defending champions without our 2nd option. We held the Lakers to 39% FG in this game. What an epic finish, it was fun seeing LBJ so into this game, even when he was rapping, he was serious.

Just a hard fought win.

Epic fail by TNT and it screwing up to start the 4th, they are going to make me go find an online rip to see if I can see the missing game time. I got back in the 2nd quarter so I am going to go rewatch the first half, night people.

Honestly though, for the Lakers Pau seems to be a bit of an enigma. He's so freakishly talented that I'd think he should get at least half as many shots as Kobe. But he is intimidated easily and backs down to pressure and physicality. So it's hard to count on him down the stretch.

Still, much in the same way Lebron needs to calm down LeISO, Kobe needs to calm down on calling his own number. So often he starts hot and goes cold but keeps shooting when he should be dumping it to Pau down low.

Either way, I am glad this was a good team confidence boost without Mo. Particularly impressed with Hickson's performance tonight (14 rebounds in 25 minutes!!!!) :D :D :D

:chuckles:

GOOD TO BE ALIVE!

Seeing LeBron spitting Forever at the end of the game was awesome.

He hit a big one when it counted and made several key defensive plays.

Agreed. For as bad as he played through the first three quarters, desire kicked in late.

Stripped Luke Walton on an offensive rebound, blocked Shannon Brown on a pull-up jumper, and buried a pivotal three. That's the thing about players like Delonte. They can have an off game, but in a close game with that kind of atmosphere, the beast comes out.

TO BE FAIR

Kobe is nursing three injuries right now.

However, we still got it done tonight. Kudos to the boys.

He doesn't get it both ways. If he's injured, and playing through it, he gets his knob polished constantly for how tough he is.. but he doesn't get to make excuses when he sucks then. And sucked he has, two games in a row against the Cavs. Something like 22-65 in the combined games, or thereabouts. He's played like Tracy McGrady in both games.

And I loved seeing Phil staring down the refs, as if it's their fault. It's not the refs fault, Phil. If anything, the fucking refs kept you IN the game.

Great win..

Props to JJ tonight. First career double double. Let's make that a habit, young man.

I know it's too soon to say this, but it has to be said:

It's LeBron's league now. Tonight just about sealed the deal (except last missed FT).

Now, Cavs have to be aggressive and make deals, likely, for a PF and a legit backup PG. NO resting on laurels.

JJ was gigantic tonight but can that be trusted in the playoffs? Can't stand pat.

DAMN that was awesome. So proud.

One of the best things about this for me is the fact that the Cavs had more fouls called against them than the Lakers and if LA hadn't fouled 4 times in the final 24 seconds, Cleveland would have had less FTA too. For all the crybabies who can't shut up about refereeing...

we at least we know TNT doesn't discriminate, they are fucking up right now lol

Just as planned guys, just as planned.

It obviously big we beat this team without freakin Mo.....but without JamariO is huge too. Jamario was always another body we could throw at Kobe on defense. That would have made a huge impact too. Can't underestimate him as well. BIGGGGGGGGGGGGG Win.

Make a GIF of LeBron making Kobe fall and of him rapping and I'll love you forever.

No homo.
