Garland has already achieved enough to justify Koby's dice roll drafting him.. I was very skeptical, but the performance is there. His effort on defense has also improved significantly since he went to work on his body in the off season..
It is pretty much conventional wisdom that Garland is a more valuable asset than Sexton, even before the injury. This is because he is the kind of guard that makes other players better, and he is early in his career.
He will reduce those turnovers, and he will get deadlier from 3. Pretty much all guards do as they get more experienced..
I don't recall anyone flat trading a point guard to get a wing.., so I don't think that is going to happen..
I have been scouting a bit on this year's forwards.. there are a lot of 6'7, 6'8 220-240 guys with 36+ 3pt % .. So I think we nab one of those in the middle of the draft.. I would be willing to give up Sexton to move up in the draft, and perhaps Mark, although I like his value.. obviously, Osman, Stevens, Valentine are all on the table. I could see us taking wings with a mid first, and a high second in the draft, then picking up a decent Vet wing that has a few miles on him after this season..Then trying to sign a free agent wing in 2023..
Less obvious is Windler. I would be willing to trade him, but I don't think he has any value at the moment.. He would need to score 10 and rebound 5 on 20 minutes for anyone to sniff at him..
Okoro is a puzzle for me.. he had a better game against the nets, but he needs to improve a lot to justify a spot at the 2.. I am not anxious to trade him ( or bust him to Gleague like some of the board) I feel like it's selling low.
I would like to see Guy take a spin on the team. He looks like a Rubio energy level, but more reckless..
