Steve Kerr isn't even that great.
Jackson was a clown about some stuff but he helped develop that team who was super young and then got shitcanned early. Had he not been fired and allowed to coach Curry and Klay's prime years, it would have been similar to what it looked like. The point of this is not that Mark Jackson is a great coach. It's that Steve Kerr is massively overrated.
You're hot taking this like their has been some Sunday drinking or some lost money gambling going on.
So MUCH positive to focus on in this game from the players and coaches and this season as well. And instead go thinking that that coaches can and will grow into the team, as well as help the team grown, in a multi year fashion, with some growing pains, like the path ALL other winning non super teams follow, you're making this early JBB is trash and will never be good enough, like he's just some babysitter and not a dude who's been around and coaching basketball his whole life.
Quinn is a good coach for sure. But has also had some DISAPPOINTING playoff runs. AND has CONTINUITY. The the of continuity that allows you to create an identity and scheme and then continue to stack more and more on top. We are in the very beginning of that phase and JBB is doing the right thing by focusing on the core and simple basics of what that identity is. If given the chance to have that type of continuity, that will grow and expand as well. If not, some other coach, hopefully a good one as well, will benefit a LOT from the work JBB has put in with this group.
