I'm with you. I agree Stevens was the best guy to check KD by a wide margin. Okoro did well against Kyrie defensively as well but with Okoro we're still 4 against 5 on our offensive end. LeVert actually played pretty good defense on both Kyrie and KD. I would have left Stevens in to guard KD, put LeVert on Kyrie and sat Okoro for the offense Caris provides. Put Laurie on Drummond and let Evan dominate against Brown or whoever. So yeah I would have done it different than JB did.We normally agree on a lot of things, but I do think JBB deserves some criticism for not playing Stevens at all in the 4th. Stevens was phenomenal on Durant in the 3rd and really gave the whole team an energy spark on D.
But I do agree the Nets are a better team than us, so I'm not totally surprised at the L. I decided to watch a bit to see if we had a chance. I was surprised it was close much of the way. And not everything should be placed on JBB. But not playing Stevens in the 4th was a bad decision IMO, and one most agree with here. It may be stated in some over-the-top ways by some posters, but it's a valid criticism.
But you know, I grew up with an alcoholic father and one of his steady rants was bitching relentlessly about any and all Cleveland head coaches during games. When I get nostalgic for that all I need to do is visit the game thread here.
