He’s serious. Sixers have had massive injury problems, Joel is coming off an injury and they were tired and beat up. He gave the Cavaliers credit noting that the Sixers swept the Cavaliers last season and they have a lot of pride.

With some consistency on the defensive end, some health luck, and also consistent effort, the Cavs have a slate of about 10 games where they really have a runway to start a serious win streak or rip off at least a really nice stretch at least.
