Jimmy Butler Safari

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Seriously after getting spoiled during the LeBron era everyone here acts like getting to the EC Finals or even the Semifinals would be horrible. We still have a perennial all star in Kevin Love and paired with Butler this could be a really nice team to watch considering the crap teams we've had here outside the Lebron squads of course. I can see why Dan would make such a move. He's also one of the few owners that would take on Dieng or give Butler the full max next summer too. The last time we acquired a so called LA guy from the Wolves it worked out ok.

No way would I give up Sexton in such a deal but maybe offer something like Korver, Hill, Zizic, and a future FRP for Butler and Dieng. Minn very well might get a better offer but they would get salary relief, 2 win now vets on expiring contracts, a young prospect with potential and a 1st which isn't horrible considering what other stars have fetched in trades recently. The Cavs would have to hope Love and Butler stay healthy and see development out of their youngsters Nance, Cedi, Sexton, Nwaba, etc. It might be a nice mix and unlike Wiggins I think our young players are competitive hard workers that might get along with Butler. That team wouldn't beat the Warriors of course, or maybe not the Celts or Raps in the EC this year, but I would definitely pay to go down to the Q and watch that squad.

With that said the chances of it happening are probably real slim..

With their urgency to move him before the season starts, I just don't see how they can get that good of a deal for him. The only thing concerning is the amount of competition to get him. Many teams are interested. That might drive up the price, but how much, I don't know.

I wouldn't give up Sexton or Cedi. But we might be able to make a decent offer with expirings, Zizic and picks. Or I don't know if Hood could be attached yet.

Can we actually compete with any of the other offers though? From what I’ve seen Portland, Miami, Toronto, Sacramento, Milwaukee, Sixers & probably some other teams I don’t know about are interested

Even though it’s just a fan blog, it’s interesting to read these because it shows how the Wolves fans perceive things uniquely to their situation and their hopes for the young players they already have in place.

For example, they seem to have little interest in Cedi, because in their opinion, he’d only impede the development current rookies Okogie and Keita Bates-Diop, both who had strong summer leagues. Couple that with the fact that they are already locked in for better or worse with Wiggins, and Cedi doesn’t excite them the same way he does Cavs fans.

I don`t see any options how this could happen + I`m pretty sure he wouldn`t sign a deal with us next summer.

Safari!! Safari!! Safari!!!

Its a strong move by Gilbert to get into the playoffs and make a little noise. This would be a very fun team to watch IMO, esp if they can somehow keep Sexton in the mix.

If you can add a top 20 player, you do it.

The other option for this was Love But Sex but I felt like that was too crude.

Well, you see, Kevin Love's last name is 'Love'. Jimmy Butler's last name is 'But'ler. Collin Sexton's last name is, you guessed it... 'Sex'ton. So it's a play on words (albeit a crude one) of their last names. Hopefully this helps you understand my joke a little bit better.

What about Love the Butt Sex?
