Mamadi Diakite - The real Brobley

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I like the fact that JBB is willing to experiment and give guys on the end of the bench like Stevens and Diakite a chance to start when there's an injury and our bench guy brings something we need, i.e. defense, toughness, length, outside shooting.

Like every team we have incomplete players who are very good at some things and deficient at others, like Cedi, Okoro, Wade, Stevens, Diakite, and to a lesser extent, LeVert, who has lost his mid-range jump shot.

It looks like JBB has decided that Cedi, Okoro, and LeVert are better coming off the bench, so when a starter goes down JBB reaches past them and gives Stevens or Mamadi the start so the others can stay in their roles.

you go DikDik!
Maybe you don't know a dikdik is a real animal.

I love seeing this guy out there next to Mobley and Wade when JA is out. I hope he earns more minutes and a full contract. I'd roster him over Windler.
We've got a free slot iirc. Promote him and 2 way matt ryan

Noooo.
Gotta keep Windler on the active roster to have any hope of retaining him come free agency. We don't want to lose his Bird rights.

The defense with him in the 2nd half starting lineup which featured a much more heavy switching was exquisite. He needs to start.

I don't understand why the coach forgot about him in the 4th quarter. He clearly had much better impact than Okoro or whatever despite his shot not falling.

I like Diakite, but I'm not sure his ball handling is what we want at the 3.

That said, dude is perfect at the 4 / small ball 5, and has been a godsend as a stopgap while we're hurting for depth.
I don't see a three on most teams, but with Mobley and Allen, he is athletic enough to defend the three. Offensively, he won't get asked to do much. If he can hit the kick out triple, or finish the fast break, that is all we need.

I think I started the DikDik thing. I saw a documentary on African plains animals. The DikDik is good at reaching the high leaves, because it can stand on its rear legs and stretch its neck. My impression of Diakite is a long, slender, high energy player. I think he plays taller than he is.. he is also bouncy..

A rose by any other name ..I.

I am very happy to have him. This team is pretty loaded on that second tier, and when Luke and the anti-Diop show up, look out..

Stevens should start over him until he can do more on offense.

Diakite has been awesome. Hope he makes the roster by years end.

He's almost like okoro out there. If he isn't getting a block, he's just out there standing on offense. Not cutting, not hitting the three, nothing. Invisible on offense.

Crazy, its almost like he got cut from 2 teams and made our team as 16th on the roster as a 2-way player and isnt the next all star for the Cavs.

Sh, there's people at this very forum convinced that this guy is the long-term answer to our starting 3 woes.
