Minor League Games - 2024

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Uh oh. Jackson Humphries pulled after 1.2 IP. He was looking good too, just struck out a batter before being removed.

1.2IP 0H 0R/0ER 1BB 4K. 34 Pitches 20 strikes.

Watched his ABs, didn't seem because of injury, just volume. They're building him up sowly.

Control was much better, but still erratic. Breaking ball looked nasty, easy plus. Seemed to have more control of those than his FB.

Long way to go but he's still only 18yo and the talent base is obvious.

Gillispie taking over after Hentges. Columbus really doesn't have jack shit for SP.

Columbus and Syracuse tied at 2 because Columbus' SP sucks puddy balls.

Brito with an impressive play throwing out JD Martinez on a ground ball hit down the 3B line. He has a better arm than I was led to believe.

Gillispie sucks!

JRod with an opposite field HR. He's hit the ball hard all 3 AB tonight.

They really don't... I don't see how the Akron crew stays at Akron for very long... I feel like the second half of the season Columbus is gonna look totally different in the pitching department...

Something has to happen. I'd like to see a SP prospect or 2 acquired with some of the positional depth.

Isn't AA generally considered the stronger pitching and hitting league with AAA more about prospects about to get promoted and/or reclamation projects? I know CLE insists on the hitters seeing AAA but I think a decent amount of pitchers of a short jump or all together skip AAA.

This crew with so many rule 5 eligible pitchers, you could definitely normally see the AA to bigs jump... Problem is our AAA group of pitchers aren't really pitching well so I wouldn't be surprised to see more get AAA look than expected...

A couple early games with Akron and Lake County in action.

Alex Mooney has hit his 4th homer of the year, a 2 run job in the 3rd. Keep an eye on him, he might end up being pretty damn good.
