Minor League Week 5 games (6/1 - 6/6/21)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
@MadThinker88 Thanks for the discourse, I really like Espino too, and I bet every other club would love him too.

Got a pretty good game brewing now - 0-0 until the ninth when SAL pulls ahead 1-0. Farhat double to lead off and is now at 3rd with one out..

Strange happenings in top of the 10th (HBP or wild pith confusion)..
At this point, half inning is over & Hillcats trail 2-1 going into bottom of the 10th..
-------------------------------------

Edit #1
Hillcats tie it up again. 2-2 going into the 11th inning..
------------------------------------

Edit #2
Salem pushes the run across again, 3-2 going into bottom of the 11th..
------------------------------------

Edit #3
Hillcats fail to score so game is over. Hillcats lose 3-2. Series now knotted at 1 game a piece.

CLE Affiliates go 0-1 on the day & are now 1-4 on the week...

@MadThinker88 - I want to join others in thanking you for doing the daily minor league updates. I don't comment in this thread often but I read it daily and very much appreciate your work. I know it takes time and effort, you should know it's appreciated by many! I'm old enough to remember waiting for the Sunday Plain Dealer to read the small weekly minor league report that was included. It's amazing to have this information available on a daily basis and practically in real time! Keep up the good work!

Thurs Game Updates:

Gm 1 at Lake County is underway.
Logan T Allen (every time I write that my mind flashes to James T Kirk) gives up a run in the 1st.

Its 1-0 Dayton, now in the 2nd..

Edit #1:
Now in bottom of the 3rd. Tied 1-1 thanks to a Bracho HR down the RF line in the 3rd.
So far for LT Allen, 3 IP, 2 hits, 1 run (earned), 4ks. 37 pitches/ 25 strikes. He is working very fast when on the mound..

Edit #2:
Still 1-1 at Lake County, top of the 5th.. Scratch that. Lake County now trails 3-1 in top of 5th

Akron in a rain delay before getting started for their game on Thursday night..

Recent box scores seem in indicate Bracho is coming alive, game logs seem to indicate a bit of the streaks. But 2 homers in his 1st 2 games in June? Can't get mad at that.

More Game updates:

Akron still in delay...

Lake County tied 3-3 going into bottom of 6th.
Good outing/ Quality start by Logan T Allen today. 6IP, 5 hits, 3 runs (all earned), 1 walk, 8 ks. 86 pitches/ 60 strikes.

Lynchburg is underway & trails 1-0 going into bottom of the 1st..

Edit #1:
3 run, 2 out bomb by Will Brennan propels Lake County into the lead. 6-3 as the bottom of 6th inning continues in gm 1 of the doubleheader.
3 more outs needed by Captains pitching to end the 7 game losing skid..

Edit #2:
Captains win! 6-3 and the skid ends at 7.

Gm 2 of the double dip in a little bit.

More Thurs Game Updates:

Columbus is underway. Clippers lead 1-0 entering bottom of the 3rd..

Akron is still in rain delay... has been postpone for Thursday..

Lake County will be starting gm 2 of the double dip shortly..

Lynchburg trails 7-0 in top of the 3rd. Cade Smith on in relief of Sergio Morillo
--------------------------------------

MT88 opinion: This stems from watching the box scores only, but I hope Lynchburg tries someone other than Sergio in a starting role next week.
Today's pitching line is horrid like those in the past: 2.1 IP, 7 hits allowed, 7 runs (all earned), 3 walks, no ks. 60 pitches/ 33 strikes. WHIP is a stat I watch closely for pitchers and Sergio had a 1.9 WHIP before today's start. Counting today Sergio has allowed 30 base runners (hits, walks & 6 hit batters) in 9.2 IP.
Its time for a trip back to extended spring training and extended work before another start..
