MLB 2022 regular season thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The competitive balance picks have always been available for trade.. Thise are the only ones.

CLE dealt one away as part of the 3 way deal to send out Edwin & bring back Carlos Santana.

MKE has dealt theirs away multiple times..

I don't recall then getting traded much thought especially for prospects like the KC trade...

The Royals got three minor league players for their competitive balance pick #35... OF Waters (who @EdMonix11 was adamantly against getting) RHP Andrew Hoffman and INF CJ Alexander.

Waters is looking more like the 4th OF type. Hoffman to me is more of Plutko/spot starter type (good control, not amazing stuff). Alexander has added some power to his swing, but to me doesn't look like a big leaguer. That being stated they needed some more pieces...

Atlanta must be really high on this year's draft to trade their top prospect on a comp pick, which teams are allowed to trade now.
This draft is exceptionally strong in position player / hitters at both the college level and prep level. If you're going to acquire a position player prospect that can become a good ML'er.. this year's draft offers some pretty damn good choices..

Well Blue Jays fired their coach...

Man that seems a little hasty.. But... Considering their roster, chemistry sure seems iffy. Hopefully he was the bad apple and not the scapegoat. Hope their clubhouse atmosphere doesn't become worse or even toxic.

Well if it means one less team in our way, I don't 100% mind...

a shake up of the on field leadership is an unusual move for Shapkins... unusual, indeed.. they must have read and believed the preseason press clippings..

it could also mean the Jays are going to alter the focus of their issues on the departed Montoyo instead of making the addition/adding talent needed to get into contention..

IDK if that's good or bad.. thoughts?

MBL must stand for Men's Baseball League. Note that Pablo grabbed his genitals while walking past the catcher and his teammates. Myles Straw would have been all up in Sandoval's grill.

Nothing says MAGA like bringing your AAA team to Canada
Yeah, it’s too bad those stupid socialists can’t make everyone get vaccinated. Freedom is such a pain in the ass!

Yep, protecting public health is only a socialists’ wet dream.

That comment is absolutely fucking stupid and this isn’t the place for it. Take that shot down the road bruh!

The smoke trail from a cloud that has hovered over the Royals organization privately for months is now the root of a very public humiliation. While the embarrassment of the league’s worst COVID-19 vaccination rate has gone national, drawing headlines on ESPN, Sports Illustrated and the like, its internal effects will apparently still reverberate loudest. And perhaps longest. Ten players, more than any other team in baseball, have skipped the Royals’ trip to Toronto this week because of their refusal to comply with a Canadian mandate that they must receive a COVID-19 vaccination before they arrive.

Let's not get into vaccines right now... Either way it hurts the Royals on paper, but now they get to see a bunch of different players...

Take that stupid shit over to the political forum. We’re not all liberals, but I’m pretty sure we’re Guardians fans so quit being a douche bag.
