Portland made out like a bandit in this.
Meh. So far in the two trades combined they got one good player who could be a long term part of their core (Ayton), a late FRP in the 2024 draft, and a couple of 2029-30 FRPs that are forever away. Let’s see if they they get anything for Brogdon - he’s not useful to keep since they’re developing young guards
I guess Williams is a solid bench player but he always seems to be getting injured and he’s 26 already
Would be curious as to what Blazers would want for Williams. He’d fill a huge need as a legit backup C who is a great rebounder and versatile defender.
Per the Boston Globe, Williams needed to be part of the deal, so it sounds unlikely that they’re interested in moving him.Would be curious as to what Blazers would want for Williams. He’d fill a huge need as a legit backup C who is a great rebounder and versatile defender.
Ayton is a good player. Williams is a good player. They will flip Brogdon for something. I have no idea what Camara is. The late first is semi-valuable. But those two future 1st rounders could be lottery picks by then and the pick swaps could be very good as well. Portland has some good young players and this gives them valuable pieces right now and key pieces down the road when they will likely be already ascending. To get all that for a guy that might have a good year or two left at a ridiculously high salary is a great deal in my accounting.Meh. While it certainly looks like the Celtics could have a nasty starting 5, I think an argument can be made that the Cavs are better at 4 of the 5 positions (though Tatum over Strus is a ROUT).Still some question marks with Boston.
1. Will Porzingis stay healthy?
2. Does Horford have enough left in the tank?
3. Is Jaylen Brown really even that good?
4. Depth.
But every team has some question marks. And this helps Boston match up better with Milwaukee.
Not sure I like all of that for Holiday when White essentially already does the same stuff. Now they don't really have a rim protector and less depth on the bench.
