NFL Off-Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yes? Maybe? Problem?

I can tell you've spent alot of time being defensive about this subject. So perhaps before I get banned for you insinuating that I'm a racist, you politely knock off that type of trollish nonsense aimed at enflaming the topic.

Or do a modicum of research into Easterby yourself, instead of getting pissy when I don't hold your hand through it.
I don’t care enough to research it. I just watched the 3 clips and see nothing wrong at all. Just asked what’s the issue is and how it relates to the NFL.

I'll laugh when we see the package they're about to flip him for.
Just going out on a ladder, I imagine they are probably getting a couple of first round picks. At worst I could see a first and a second. What's crazy is that this 100% bails out the ravens. If Brown sucked it up for one more year he could just walk away, as he would demand a huge salary somewhere else and pick where he is going. Instead this puts the ravens in the drivers seat. The only way the Ravens arent able to get a huge haul is if Brown flat out announces he is testing free agency next year no matter what.

Well, if you trade for him, even if he will sign an extension with you, it's going to be a pretty big contract.

So I don't know that many teams will be willing give up multiple firsts AND have the cap space the sign him to a 60+mil deal.

Thanks for the reminder of why its largely useless to explain things to people who don't care to learn and think for themselves.

I give people too much credit, it was pretty clear after the last post you were only interested in crying victimhood and airing your sad racial grievances. Neither of which have any place here.

Im just basing this off of what the texans did last year for Tunsil, and at the time they didnt have an agreement for a contract extension.

Texans are completely and totally inept when it comes to trades, but they gave up an absolutely MASSIVE package and you have to think the Ravens will be looking for something similiar

I don't doubt the Ravens will have Tunsil's deal in mind. Of course, Tunsil had started 2 full seasons as a LT and was drafted to be a LT. Brown was drafted to be a RT and has only played 11 games at LT.

Maybe that has no bearing on it, but I kinda feel that Tunsil's value was higher.

Honestly, it would be a win/win for the Ravens and Brown if they:

1. Find a match where Brown can play and hit the market as an LT
2. The Ravens get a draft haul of a first or second day pick(s)

Its not like the Ravens are going to pony up THAT much for Brown given their investment in Stanley, and the fact their QB is a damn action figure. They certainly trust their development program well enough to replace him.

The Jaguars, who look to be moving on from Cam Robinson and have an abundance of picks and cap space, certainly seem like a team that could be a fit for a Brown deal.

I just wanted to know why a guy telling lame jokes at a church gathering is a reason why Watson wants out of Houston.

Might be time to move on, boss.
As a third party observer, I don't understand this. So I scrolled back and read the exchange from the start.

AZ_, you post a series of 3 videos in response to JDailey23 saying "Good for Houston. Watson acts like the Texans have been the Bengals or Browns his entire career. Be the change Watson" which show Jack Easterby speaking/preaching/"making comedy", and your comments with those videos are succinctly:
"Who wouldn't want to work with this guy?"
"Are we seriously saying that Watson isn't right to want to run for the fucking hills from this abortion of a management group?"
"I'm genuinely trying to understand why any professional athlete would want to play for a team with this guy making Football decisions."

In between the videos, you post a tweet about some administrative/executive personnel changes. With those tweets, you comment:
"C'mon DeShaun, do the right thing and stay for the good of the team."
"You owe them"
(You put these in quotes yourself)

And then through this, JDailey23 asks you what your argument is, repeatedly. He threw in the comment about him being white, which I think distracted from this greater point, but the questions stands.

WHAT IS YOUR ARGUMENT AZ_? I don't really see you making one anywhere. All you've done is post some videos and defended Watson's desire to leave because of how bad the management is. When JDailey23 asked you what was wrong with these videos, you didn't address that point but rather made it about his other comments. BUT THERE IS STILL NO ARGUMENT. You posted the videos, you made the comments quoted above, so I have to assume that the videos are your evidence for your position. The only thing in those videos is a guy being a preacher/speaker and his topic is Christianity. So because of that, he's a bad person to work for? That seems to be your argument. Is there more to it than that?

You then go on about how you shouldn't have to do the research for someone else, to put it nicely, and that it isn't worth your time to explain. That's fine. EXCEPT YOU POSTED THE VIDEOS AS EVIDENCE for how bad a guy he would be to play for as a football decision maker. So I think its fair that you should explain why those are evidence of your point, because it's the only evidence you've posted.

No one else brought those videos up. You did. So explain why. I seem to recall you saying "Be better" on quite a few occasions. This would be a good opportunity for you to live that advice.

FTR my personal issue with Easterby does not go beyond the fact that the specific video that was posted featured extraordinarily hacky and terrible jokes.

Everything posted about him online suggests many of the players in the org also distrust him. Have the feeling it’s not because he tells hacky jokes. Guessing incompetent.

Yes, after being called a racist, I refused to engage further with the troll on the topic, given his refusal to comment in any good faith.

Perhaps it was my mistake to assume that the post this troll originally commented on, which details the various management upheaval, culture issues and anger from various Texans players was something that he ACTUALLY read...

It’s clear now that he didn’t read the article.

As someone who knows this board well enough to understand that I’ll be banned for engaging with the troll calling me a racist, and that this troll will face absolutely zero consequences for his actions, I chose the path of least resistance.

Hope that is okay with you. Feel free to use the search feature for my previous posts regarding Easterby, and the ongoing failure of that franchise.

Edit: By the way, if you watched either of those videos and thought my intent was anything remotely resembling an attack on “Christianity,” ignoring the shit stereotyping of various US populations, and “crip walking on water,” then it’s likely you’re not approaching this discussion in good faith, either.
