I could be talked into the Cleveland Blues (a name the team already owns the rights to, so there would be no fuss). Could even form a good rapport with the St. Louis Blues of the NHL.

It's definitely among my top options. While the St. Louis thing could be an issue and no name is going to satisfy everyone, I think Blues has a ton going for it:
  • Name has history in the city, and is close to a previous name of the team (Bluebirds)
  • Sounds like a classic franchise, which fits for an AL charter team
  • Fits the current color scheme but could easily be adjusted for a refresh
  • Fits in with the Browns as a color-named team
  • Ties in with our in-state brotherly rivals the Reds
  • Sorta ties in with the rock'n'roll thing without having to base the identity around guitars, guitar picks, etc. shit that everyone is tired of
  • It's a "safe" choice which I'm sure management wants
Still open to Guardians, Spiders, and a few other ideas I've heard, but this could really work. I think the key would be changing the logo from the Block C to a more interesting monogram, like the Cs of the old Cleveland Buckeyes or Naps.

Edit: Also, Blue Sox is intriguing but I think I prefer just Blues. Adding the Sox feels a bit forced and would draw comparisons to the White & Red Sox that I think would be annoying.
 
While I would probably go for Spiders, I am expecting it to be Guardians. It seems to be a safe choice with some potential for creativity with the logo. I think people ignore the merchandising aspect of the name. Chief Wahoo sold merch. I hate the current hat. The block C is distinctive in how boring it is. They have changed the "C" on the hat repeatedly in franchise history and apparently settled on the least interesting version possible for now.
 
Yeah my biggest worry isn't that they'll choose an awful name, as I'm pretty sure I'll be okay with just about anything, my biggest worry is that they'll change the name and not update a single thing about our overall look. Same colors, same block C logo, same font, just a different name.

The merchandise and color scheme with Foresters could be so good.

North East Ohio is a great place for people who like the outdoors. I would love the team to lean into that.
