Eh, see, I still like Captains over those options. Although I’m not opposed to Cleveland Monsters like the hockey team. Even their logo is pretty cool.
 
If we insist in naming after a Lake Erie animal, i am sure the Cleveland Walleye are available.

Not sure i fear a Walleye, but they have teeth right?
 
I haven't heard anyone say 'Cleveland Lake/River Fires' yet. That's a rather intimidating image if you ask me.

Edit:
We could get Goodyear to sponsor the team and change our mascot to the tire guy and set him on fire in center field after each win. It'd be pretty awesome to have a burnt out patch of grass in the outfield as one of the team's defining traits.

Thats all ancient history that we don’t want to be our identity. That’s Boomer crap. Cleveland is a great place to live. I say Captains or Guardians.

it’s a good name. Has alliteration, ties into Lake Erie. Can have a foghorn and some crap at the games after a home run.

We call up players from the minors. Now just call up the name. Done.

That's what I've been saying from the start. I see no reason why we couldn't share the name with the minor league team.
 
I just want them to pull the trigger on something so we can just get over the backlash/disappointment that will inevitably happen with whatever they pick (unless they pick Steamers, which would be a great name).

I suggested it but the more I think about it the more I like it. Google steamers and Lake Erie or Great Lakes. A rich history
Unique name. I am sure nice logos can be designed

OBJ would come to all the games too. And the name would fit in very well with the Browns.
 
So of the names in the poll above, I would pick the Guardians. However, a few weeks back one of the local Cleveland radio dudes said that the team was contesting the trademarks for a few names, including the Foresters, and the moment I saw that name, I knew it had to be the one. We need more teams with green colors!

But yeah, it'll probably be Guardians. Bally's has been showing them just about every home game, and they are a prominent background image of the name change site the team opened up last month.
