As for the Blues, they want a name that has some association with the city and we're not St. Louis. We're rock'n'roll.

The Grays sound like a team perpetually finishing .500 and offending precisely no one. Perfect.

Exactly how I feel about Baseball Team/Club as well. So unimaginative and bland.
 
Make no mistake about it, changing the name of a major sports team like the Cleveland Indians is a pretty big deal.

I gave it some thought, & came to the conclusion that it should be the Cleveland Knights. Here's why:

1. It has to be cool. Who doesn't love medieval times with armours & everything? I came up with the Cleveland Knights because I used to play a very popular medieval online game called RuneScape. I'm pretty sure many on this board have heard about it, or even played it.

2. You can be picky, but not too much. There are only a certain amount of names that make sense, so being picky can make things somewhat difficult in terms of choosing a name.

3. Cleveland Cavaliers. Cavaliers are a medieval theme. We should take advantage of that.

4. Spiders or Guardians ain't it imo. I don't want other teams to think they can "stomp" on us & humiliate us. We need to have things like that in consideration when making such a crucial desicion for our franchise. Guardians is somewhat lame. We all have different opinions on the subject so I understand why some wouldn't want Knights.

I think Cleveland Knights is the coolest name available. I hope our front office has it in consideration. The fact that Columbus has a team with that name should only validate this option for us. It hasn't been used in any of the three major sports leagues.

Edit: I misread the Knights of Columbus thing. My bad.

Actually Cavsfinal2016 stated they played in Arrowhead Stadium and part of their logo is an arrowhead. Pretty much entirety of his post. I asked if a arrowhead is racist.
 
Why not just call them cleveland.

Who actually cares about the rest. You still have a logo etc.

Nobody buys shit bc of the team name. This would be the Washington football team without the awkwardness and prince feel

That should be the name. Just change the minor league name to literally any dumb thing because nobody cares.

it’s a good name. Has alliteration, ties into Lake Erie. Can have a foghorn and some crap at the games after a home run.

We call up players from the minors. Now just call up the name. Done.

Guardians
Spiders

It should be one of those. And Cleveland Captains is the clear winner for me. Really works great on a national level too. Lots of people don’t even realize Cleveland sits right on a Great Lake. It’s a really good name.

What would the logo be? A map of the city? That name would make zero sense in conversation.
 
I actually like the idea of Captains as well.
