Eric Snow should be our starting point guard. I dont change my mind if we sign either Daniels or Saruanas. They can become our 6th man who comes in and sparks the offense. Early on we are looking to get James, Hughes and Ilgauskas into the game which Snow will do. As they start to tire, we get a push from our point man (Saruanus/Daniels).

I think Sarunas is a better choice now. With Hughes now at SG a good perimeter shooter is needed at PG. That is supposed to be a strength of Sarunas'.

He is also said to be a tough competitor and leader. The Cavs could use more players like that. I also think he's likely to want to come here.
I'd be fine with him starting too since Snow would be a better fit with a backup like Jackson or Sasha.

I'd want Saras starting next season, go for the boom, or bust, low risk high reward signing.

Eric Snow plays better ball as a starter. It's going to be hard to not give him that role since he really deserves it. After JMac lost his starting spot, the Cavaliers offense ran smoother and played smarter on defense.

Lets not forget him locking down other PG's when JMac couldn't get the job done.

His only knock is that he can't shoot worth a lick, and that makes him a canidate for our 6th man off the bench.

My choice, Sarus. Sarus he will compliment Hughes very nicely with his outside shooting touch. But I can live with either or.

All I know is that I heard Sarus wants a starting role in this league, and if we do sign him we have to at least give him a shot at it.

Heres the beef, we canot have Eric Snow as our STARTER. He can be a great person to come of the bench for us. I doubt we will just release him, hes a great guy, and is a leader. The person i would love to see is Damon or Sarunas. Theres no need to explain, Damon is a great 3 pt shooter, thats what we need. Period. Sarunas, --Personally I just heard he was the "Best" player in the Euro League -- Nothing else.

If somoene has a video clip of this guy , I would love to see it.

I concur with Karma..

I think we need Snow out there just to be a defensive leader. Yes Hughes is a good defender, but if we can get the entire back court to be a good defensive unit, we are one step closer to being one of the better teams in the East.

If we can get AD or Saruanas, than we have potential to have a very very good second unit.

sarunas

he would be our primary outside shooter, and what's the point in having him on the bench when BRON and larry are penetrating to the hole all game ?

if we sign this guy, i think it's perfect for our style of play ?

now all i know is from what i read and hear about this guy- so that's what i am going on.. but if he is as good of an outside shooter as many have suggested he is ? then this might be better then redd and daniels combination.

daniels would have been our primary perimeter defender, and redd would have been our shooter- where as now we have a 1st team all defensive player on our perimeter (that is a triple double waiting to happen) and we would still get an excellent outside shooter and passer in sarunas.

i would take that, but of course we are only half the way there . WE SHALL SEE how it all plays out.

Look I am dont mind either way especially if it is Saruanus that we do sign. But I am of the opinion that Coach brown will want to instill a defensive presense early which Snow provides. I still see Saruanus playing around 30 minutes with Snow around 20 as Saruanus can play off minutes as a 2 guard. Either way though, doesn't concern me overly.

Are we counting chickens here before the hatch?

Sorry Karma, I think e're just over confident in the fact we signed one of those free agents, now we expect all of them to be waiting on our doorstep :chuckles:

As for the defensive presence, how about an out side threat, or are we looking to get Z abused again this year with double teams. We want Z to force the other teams big men in foul trouble, and them to have to man Z up. That's what I want anyways.

Seems like it. I haven't even read anything anywhere that the Cavaliers were indeed interested in Sarus. I have just seen Antonio Daniels and Earl Watson's names popping up.

I am not sure if it was discussed in the chat room, but is Sarunas an actual consideration? Or are we all just wishing he was?

I see your point E-Light. Like I said both I wont be concerned over which way Brown goes. I just think Coach has a defensive mindset and will go with Snow. Saruanus (if we get him) will still see his minutes. Also having Hughes instead of Newble will free up alot of space for Z even with Snow on the court.

i agree with mac and karma on this. i have heard nothing but shaking news on saruanus defense. snow to start and saruanus off the bench to add that saprk. snow is still a great defender and we would have 4 quality scorers on the court with him. he might lead the league in assists and never score a basket. and i would be ecstactic with that. almost every one here agrees that defense wins so let saruanus come off the bench to be that scorer we need...

The Cavs have definately been in contact about Saruanus. I believe in the chat with Brian (we are on first name basis now. LOL) he indicated just that.
