Don't get me wrong, I think Daniels is the better all around point, but he just brings nothing different to the table then we already have.

Thats why Redd was the first choice instead of Larry Hughes. Hughes is the better overall player but his skill-set is something we already have in James.

Which I guess is what I want our team to look like.

:rolleyes: Unfortunately I keep reading posts all over and am starting to sway to Sarunas..I hate changing my mind because of what other people say to me, but it might be true. On the OTHER HAND, I think we got the better deal in Hughes over Redd on that one..

The initial plan was to get Redd, then sign Antonio Daniels for his defense.

I think that plan has changed since Redd said no.

You need a good mixture of offense and defense on the court. A wing of LeBron/Hughes/Snow would be a nice one, but when LBJ and LH are driving into the lanes, who are they going to dish it to outside? Last year it was Jeff McInnis. Imagine if it was a well rounded offensive player that caught those balls.

LJ4MVP, you realize Snow and Newble don't get significant minutes to where their D contributes to the whole picture. We're talking about our starting squad, which neither of them are on.

true, but we wanted Redd and he's not known as a defender either - he's just a shooter. We didn't get him, we got less of a shooter but more of a defender. Had we ended up with Redd, a defender made sense, but since we ended up with Hughes instead, we still need that shooter.

Look at the bulls 2nd 3peat teams. We have parallels for most every role, but still don't have our Kerr.

Jordan -> LeBron
Pippen -> Hughes
Kukoc -> Jackson
Harper -> Snow
Longley -> Z
Rodman -> AV
Kerr -> ????

I'm not saying that all of our guys are as good as the bulls players were, I'm just going by general style of play. And the 5% difference is huge. It's the difference between the other team thinking "leave that guy to double because his points don't hurt us" and "we can't leave that guy to double because his points will kill us." Land the shooter and LeBron will be in the 9+ assist range next year and will shoot over .500 for the season.

some say they want damon stoudamire?

does anyone realise his field goal percentage is about the same as his 3pt percentage?

fg%=.392

3pt%=369

He wouldnt be getting major minutes here, and his role would be to shoot.

PGs shooting %s are always lower, by defualt of the position.

For 20 min a night, Id take that %.

Now that Hughes will be the SG, it makes more sense to acquire a good perimeter shooter at PG. That's why now Sarunas is the better option. I like Daniels but his skills aren't as good a fit in the Cavs backcourt now. If Redd was signed than Daniels probably would have made more sense at that point.
The Cavs need to put together players whose talents and skills compliment each other.

Snow and Sarunas would each bring different things to the table. Snow is still needed and remains a valuable piece. I believe both Brown and Ferry like Snow's leadership and defense.

I saw a report that AD has narrowed his choices down to Miami, LA and Utah

Snow has been all the way to the NBA finals. That sort of experience is in invaluable in a largely young squad. There is alot of things people can bring to the floor outside of shooting, and Snow brings it. His contributions here is very underated by most.

Yeah I agree with the idea that we need a PG that is a shooter. We missed out on the SGs that were pure shooters (Redd, Allen) so we need to address that issue at PG. I'm not really sure about Sarunas being that he has no experience in the NBA. But if we do sign him I certainly won't be complaining, in any case, I'm pretty sure he'd be an upgrade over McInnis. The idea of Snow starting isn't a bad one in my book but, we do need to sign a PG that is a shooter even if they are coming off the bench.

snow showed last year that he can come off the bench. he is a "role" player and knows how to utilized his talents to the fullest.

it would seem like snow would be in the game late in the fourth quater to shut down a scorer along with hughes.

regardless if he starts or not getting anothe quality pg is important for this squad.

I think Snow thrives when he has a sg that can score next to him. Thats why he was one of the top points in the league when he was next to AI in Philly. Last season his stats took a major slide playing with Newble. Part of that was probably him getting a step slower. But I think with Hughes with him in the backcout he can put up better stats than last season.

but I'm scared to see Hughes or LeBron drive, then dish it out to Snow for an open brick.He's a good defender, but I don't know how well he'll do with all those free shots.

I know he's not that good, but I always wanted to have Derek Fisher come to Cleveland.

Like Ben said we have Eric Snow to take on the good pg's. Here is my take on it...We can give Sarunas the starting spot since we have scoring passing hopefully rebounding with haslem or gooden and stuff. So we should give it to Sarunas to start it off, but if his Defense really poses a problem then put Snow in, it's not like if we pick Sarunas to start that Eric Snow is banned from the game..sometimes starters play less minutes then guys on the bench. Snow last year broke down when he played that many minutes, he's not made for the grind over 82 games anymore. So if we are playing a really all star top notch point guard, for example stevie franchise tore us up last year, so we could start Snow for that game to use his defensive abilities to slow him down but the next night if we are playin the Bucks or something and they have Moe Williams or even Ford then start Sarunas and let him do his thing. It should all depend on the situation. If Sarunas' D isn't that bad then let him start, sometimes scouts can't find a definitive thing to critque a player on and take something and make more of a deal then necessary about it, remember when people said LeBron had no jumper? It was shaky sometimes in year 1 but look he was so good they had to pick out something about him. If in fact his D is really bad like J-Macs then let Snow start. Mike Brown will know whether he is too big of a liability to start, and we won't find a better 3 point shooting option that can bring intangibles and fill the PG spot like Sarunas...

I see alot of praise for Snow's defensive abilities. Just because he was better than JMac does not mean he is very good. It looked to me that he really lost a step from his days in Philly.
