Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I can see him consistently going 160-170 until his K numbers drop. He was on pace for that figure this season until now. If what is being said is true, and he is back for the KC series, he's going to most likely end up right around 150 IP this season. And he did that while unable to throw a strike for about half of those innings pitched.

Like I said though, especially with Civale coming back soon and potentially Bieber a few weeks from now (though this wouldn't make sense considering how they've treated his injury to this point), I wouldn't be surprised if they shut him down.

I feel Bieber wants to get into games sometime this season, so I wouldn't be surprised if we see him make one or two starts, just to get on the mound. I don't see anything other than an innings or two per start type of thing though

He could have pitched weeks ago...

He got a clean go ahead to start throwing from his doc before the All-Star break...

From 2013 thru 2018 we had a pretty good rotation, to understate it.

I'm those six years, Kluber threw 200 innings five times. He is the anomaly. Cookie and Clevenger both did it once.

Why didn't he?

Are we um.... "tanking" ?

Welcome to the post-Covid season MLB.

Saw what was going on around the league, especially with DeGrom, and wanted to protect their guy and Bieber was all for it. Want him as close to Spring Training 100% as they can before he (and Civale, and Plesac before that) return. Civale and him could have come back weeks ago, but they are protecting their guys and their longevity.

Now Bieber and Civale sound even more like extension candidates to me...

What Bimbo is saying is the super sized version of a manager saying about an injured player, 'If we really needed him he could play today, but we thought a few days rest will be better.'

Wisdom being the better part of Valor, holding back TMac, Civale, and Bieber when we are not in contention makes a lot of sense. Its always better to hold a player back too long than to bring him back too early.

I don't think shutting him down would be a bad idea at all, but it wouldn't surprise me to see him get another start or 2 after this little "IL" stint. I hope you're right about the 160-170 IP Bimbo. That would be huge for this team if he could do that.

No one can beat the Orioles man.. Be realistic..
The Orioles are on a two-game winning streak, outscoring the Angels by a combined score of 23-7. The Angels are wondering what hit them.

I think when the O's got within a game of tying the all-time record for consecutive losses they woke up.

Just about every player that had a significantly increasing salary was traded or allowed to sign elsewhere.. no wonder the payroll was soooo low.. it can only go in one direction.. nothing new here..
