Your point is valid @BimboColesHair.

That said there is already an open rotation slot at the moment so I was figuring if someone departed, it would be a bullpen arm.
Even with TMac returning soon, it might be a piggy-back scenario during Sept (ease Civale back/ maximize the appearances while limiting the number of remaining innings for TMAC)

Also, the rosters expand by 2 spots on Weds, so with a slight delay to activate Civale, they might not need to send out anyone.

Playoff & "post-season" work for those in the minors is a good thing for player development.
I doubt too many more are moved to AAA when AA is likely for the playoffs & AAA is playing out the string.

Think more shuttle bus than permanent residency. Pilkington, Ponticelli, Hillman, Tully, Scott and even Battenfield could all get bumped to AAA due to performance/age etc.

Can't you move em back down for the playoff stuff anyway? If you want to?

Its all being played at the same time this year.

Unlike previous seasons where only the playoffs for the minors continued past Labor Day, now all the full season levels go thru the end of Sept (like the majors) to make up for the lost time in April..

So don't we get to add 2 more to the ML roster tomorrow?

One of them is very likely to be Arias IMO. Maybe we will see Jones too, but kinda expect a P - maybe a last look at Cam Hill or Nelson.
 
One will be TMac for Thursdays game.

The other may be Civale later next week.

Since Civale probably won't be expected to go deep into games at the start, we may not drop a pitcher.

With so many players already up here that need sorted out by the end of the season, would there be any good reason to bring up yet another?

I dunno.

Jones is out likely for the rest of the season... I actually expect at least one pitcher and maybe even HRam back tomorrow.

I don't think Arias is the candidate honestly...

He is definitely in the mix. Would explain the Fermin promotion IMO.

Spaced off Jones' injury. Good call.

Could be a surprise as well, I wouldn't lose any sleep if they cut HRam and gave his spot to OGonz, Benson or even Call.

Jones is out, gotta call up someone to replace him

I think they will keep HRam this season. No reason to add Oscar Gonzalez or Call now, if they think they are apart of the future of this team. They aren't going to start clocks of players if they don't need to.

Now when it comes to the off season, outrighting HRam with hopefully an invite to spring training is their hope for him would be my guess.

They don't discuss extensions during the season, so no chatter.

The process started last winter/spring with the both of them so I have to imagine it will pick-up this winter/spring as well, CBA permitting that is.
