The 2021 Cleveland Baseball Organization

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
There is a very real chance the Clevinger trade will net 1/3rd of the lineup in a few days and almost 20% of the 26 man roster. Average age of those guys is only 25 too.

And that's not even touching the 21 year old top 100 SS prospect currently slashing .282/.429/.462 in AAA after never playing above A ball prior to 2021 or the 21 year old starter that was carving up AAA hitters at the alt site.

Franmil has become such a streaky hitter, he's starting to give me heartburn. Sooner or later, teams will start pitching around JRam. When he is cold, he is tough to watch. Bad pitch recognition. Bad approach. I thought he had ability. He's still young, but needs to start producing with players on base.

The "hope" at that point is someone like Eddie Rosario or Josh Naylor is playing well enough to be put behind JRam in the lineup until Franmil warms up again.

Yep, I don’t see his streakiness changing until he improves his pitch recognition.

But we didn't get their top prospects, lol

Said it then and it's manifesting now: it was a franchise altering steal that will be talked about decades from now, probably with players still linked to this deal player generations later

Streakiness is mainstay for the vast majority of MLB batters.

Hey, as long as I hit a few dingers who cares if I hit .200 w/150 k's. Dave Kingman would be a superstar in today's game.

The haul for Clev was incredible. They did good with the Bauer trade too, especially if Moss pans out.

Perhaps not quite the superstar part, but I take your point...

We already saw Dave Kingman in today's game.

His name was Chris Carter and he was out of the league at age-30.
Kingman was probably a bit better, but I take your point...

I honestly don’t think Kingman was any better.

He was striking out 30% of the time in an era where pitchers were actively encouraged to pitch to contact :chuckle:
