The King is at it Again

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I don't think it matters much. Right now Bronny doesn't look like an NBA prospect at all, no matter how many years he plays NCAA ball. But we all know somebody's going to draft him regardless.

That's why I'd bet he's a one and done. LeBron isn't getting any younger and the kid is irrevocably tied to his dad's timeline, not the other way around. He needs to get his ass to the league ASAP.
I think he looks like an NCAA role player and 4 year guy.

Likewise, he’s over-starred. He’s really probably about the 155th prospect in his class, not top 50. Some of these kids go to college and get advanced coaching, training, and they blossom. Bronny has already had access to this his entire life.

I don’t think there’s much meat left on the bone with him to just take off.

I think, by his name, he gets a G-League Ignite spot. He might get some burn on that. But I really think he’s best suited at a college for 3+ years in hopes of becoming a solid facilitating point guard with a jump shot.

If it wasn’t obvious before, it’s pretty clear now that this is the plan.

Saving all that cap space next summer lines up. LeBron FA lines up. Bronny graduating high school lines up. Garland and Mobley approaching stardom lines up. Drafting the best shooter in the draft lines up.

I understand the group of you who are adamantly against it, but I just think you better learn to live with it. 3.0 sure seems to be lining up.

@Sebastian

As I’ve said before - the shadow of LeBron is going to loom over this organization for a long time. Ten years from now, there will be talk that 48-year-old Bron will come out of retirement to join Garland and Mobley for one last run.

Drape a #23 jersey over the door to the Hotel California, and you have the Cavs.

Well, yeah, if this was about Bronny and his career.

But it's not. It's all about LeBron and LeBron's desire to tick the box of playing with his son. He needs the attention. That's why he will do everything in his power to smooth Bronny's way into the league ASAP.

LBJ has one of the best basketball minds ever - if not THE best. He knows very well his son doesn't have real NBA talent. LeBron may be a great dad in other respects, but in this, his son is just a prop.

The downside of having the greatest player of his era!

The shadow never ceases! Ask a Bulls fan!

Or LeBron is like any other father who ever lived and sees his kid as the greatest thing on earth. No one is more biased than a parent.

I like the idea of him coming back as a FA. Not having the use assets and adding LBJ is a win for the organization. If he leaves thereafter, you’ve given nothing up and the young core learns what it’s like to play with a top 1-3 player of all time.

I don’t think there’s the same type of shadow. LBJ won ONE title here, not 6 like MJ. He’s played for three franchises.
Just not the same. Even if he comes back again, it’s Garland and Mobley and Allen and co, and LBJ.

What the hell does he want? They already got 3 max players..

Some dads hate their kids.

That said, let’s be real. The kid is good but not THAT exceptional. My son could definitely take him and then ride home with me in my “my son is an honor roll student” minivan before crushing more Mitchell’s than any of your kids could even imagine.

No problem.

Actually, I think LeBron has shown himself to be a pretty shitty talent evaluator/team builder. It's entirely possible he's convinced himself that his son is an NBA talent.

Very interesting. Never thought of it that way.

I would be absolutely thrilled with 3.0. It serves our needs and Lebron's needs -- he is the best quickest route to being a true contender we have, and we are the only place he could go where the championship would be seen as adding to his legacy instead of cheap ring chasing.

The only thing in the way is the endless bitching and whining among a certain subset of Cavs fans about Lebron. His sins are leaving us in 2010 after 7 years where we did an absolutely historically horrible job of providing him with a championship-worthy team and just relied on him to bring us deep into the playoffs singlehandedly, and then leaving us in 2018 after bringing us to four straight NBA Finals and a championship. If that's supposed to be the fucking problem then PLEASE GIVE ME MORE OF IT!

this is the only way it works. We can't dump all our assets trying to get him this year. He historically has not forced his way off teams either.

totally agree with this assessment of Bronny. Entering his senior year he has been dropping in prospect lists as well, these ranking services need to be at least a little honest. Only way he gets to be a first round pick on talent is if he has a significant growth/athleticism spurt in his late teens. This is rare but it sometimes does happen and he doesn't look physically filled out quite yet.

I don't think Lebron will put pressure on him to be one and done if he's not ready. And if he goes to a top five or ten program my guess is he won't get a ton of PT in his freshman year.
