The Mandalorian

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Grogu is functionally a toddler though and they aren’t annoying.
So you’re saying it’s just that you don’t like the character of Leia, which is fine.

I probably wouldn’t mind her if she didn’t have so much dialogue and was already involved in two ridiculous chase scenes. Have her a little less involved and she is fine.

Toddlers are annoying, but Grogu probably spent thousands of hours in focus testing to make him as adorable as possible.

Im going to disagree on that. Toddlerhood is a very fun age. They get into a lot of trouble because they will test you, but they are adorable.

I find her character pretty much like the original trilogy version.

Toddlers are cute. But there is nothing - literally nothing - more annoying than Hollywood doing a precocious tween.

Grogu is designed to trigger the human cute response.

It is called "Baby Schema" and that the infantile characteristics like big head, big eyes, chubby cheeks induce a response in humans that is derived from the instinctual need to protect infants.

Moreover, certain sounds like cooing also mimic the sounds of infants.

It is why we see puppies and kittens as so cute. It is why cats are so good at getting responses from people when they coo or meow because they sound like infants.

Grogu is perhaps one of the most perfect examples of Baby Schema and sound in fictional media.

Society never had a chance!

I liked it well enough so far.

And I can buy that Obi-Wan has let himself go, because:

Reva is no match for Kenobi under normal circumstances. He has defeated some of the most powerful Force users of the day. He defeated Anakin at his peak. He defeated Maul, once dueling him and Oppress, on three occasions. He defeated General Grievous twice. He defeated Asajj Ventress several times. The only guy he had real issues with was Count Dooku, who was simply on the highest possible level as a duelist, and Yoda makes it clear he could not handle Sidious (fair enough).

No doubt that even in ok shape he could take out Reva and the Grand Inquisitor. And probably both at the same time.

But... the way he was moving and having issues with the goons, it appears he has not used the Force much at all in years and has not touched a lightsaber in that time either. So, yeah, I can see how these JV inquisitors might be a threat for the moment.

Is she also suppose to Juke adults left and right? I agree that most ten year olds are annoying which is why I hope she or Luke aren’t given this much dialogue and action going forward.

It's really odd they cast a child who clearly can't run when they already had a chase scene with her in each of the two episodes that are out. Some of those scenes they should have used another kid as a body double to at least make it somewhat believable that she could out run the adults chasing her.

He keeps being called old man and they keep making it a point that he’s not who he use to be. Meanwhile Ewan McGregor still looks like a million bucks.

I’m curious if they casted her with plans of her growing into the role? This is not a ten year old

Apparently she is 9 years old about to turn 10. It might not be her growing into the role but to keep her in the role as long as possible. Hollywood has cast kids that have growth disorders so they look like kids longer. Like the youngest kid from the TV show the Middle.

They must have plans to use her and try to stretch the timeline as much as possible to make content. Luke and Leia are suppose to be 19 in the new hope.

Obi-Wan got roasted by Owen for getting Anakin killed then the (third?) Sister roasts him for actually not killing Anakin. My dude was getting smashed in all directions for his failures.

Oh man, episode 3 of Obi-Wan will have people rock hard.
