The Mandalorian

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Show is a nod to old western shows. That’s why you see side quests in some episodes where you see him solve local town problems. Then you see the main plot somewhat go forward.
Exactly. Even if it was just the Star Wars version of Bonanza, I'd be perfectly okay with that.

I hope in the Obi-Wan series they have a somewhat similar approach unless they don't plan on doing many seasons. I'd like to see more of the intricacies of the day to day of the character. Especially since we have seen the over arching main story, developing unknowns about the character is the more interesting part at this point.

It will be 100 episodes of Obi-Wan drinking.

Sometimes in a sophisticated manner, and others weeklong benders with Jawas.

We'll finally learn the grim secret behind Jawa juice....

This show did more in 8 episodes than 6 non original saga movies could ever do.

The future of Star Wars should be TV and occasional movies when they've built up to something quality, not just throwing a saga together for the sake of it.

Fuck that was amazing.

Disney won't let the movie cash cow go to waste though. I'm sure they already have another trilogy half planned. If it is at least a new original story, it will fare way better quality wise.

I went to Disney this summer with my wife and while waiting for the avatar ride, we were in front of a person who works for Disney. He told us the plan is to have an Avatar/Star Wars movie alternate every year and there will be at least 3 more avatar movies. Means that there has to be another trilogy in the works.

The scene was just like a number of youtube fanfic clips of a pair of stormtroopers conversing that I have seen over the years. Just priceless.

The comparison with real soldiers is startlingly accurate.

Joe is dumb, and easily bored.

However, it appears that the Empire, or rather the Remnant, has far laxer rules of engagement and weapon control. Target practice like that will get a private an Article 15, and a month's lost wages, faster than one can say Bantha poodoo.

When some people criticized TFA or TLJ, there was some pushback. Stuff like "fanboys will never be happy" or "expectations are too high".

This show, IMO, I think justifies alot of the criticisms of the new trilogy. SW is such a vast universe with so many ways to go. All you need is solid writing and strong characters and someone who understands the lore. That's all this show was! Simple episodes, simple writing, but still creative because there's such a big sandbox to play in. It certainly helped that they had an end in mind (which I think it's obvious the current saga didn't).

And it wasn't like they skimped on fan service. There were like 10-15 easter eggs an episode (maybe more). And it ended with the Darksaber, which almost made me cream myself.

Maybe the original trilogy was such a confluence of events that it's very difficult to recreate in film form. Maybe the future is streaming shows. And maybe they can take what worked here and start applying it to films. There's a HUGE list of great characters and stroylines waiting to be adapted to film.

I wonder how it found its way to Gideon after Sabine had it, and how Maul managed to retrieve it after being imprisoned by Palpatine after the duel on Mandalore.

Only thing is wasn’t the Empire supposed to be a bunch of racist fucks as well? How did Gideon come to be such a high ranking officer?

Racist in terms of species more than ethnicities. Although in the movies they’re all old British white guys.

Yeah, I just figured ethnicities as well. As you basically said, you never saw blacks, Asians, or Hispanics with the empire as well. Always on the rebel side.
