The Restaurant Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
There is a driving range and mini golf course in Hickley called Buzzard Cove. I've only had it once and they're closed during the winter but really good pizza in about the last place I'd expect to find it.

I might have to give Mama Santa’s a re-try. I was unimpressed as a college student but might have a more refined palate now. Who knows.

Loved Mama Santa’s as a kid.

What is bone marrow like? Never seen it on a menu and don’t live in an area where it would lol.

Any of my southern Cuyahoga County brethren tried In the Weeds yet? It’s in North Royalton, located in the old Kavana location. Food is really good and the cocktails are stellar. Menu changes seasonally which you don’t always see with suburban restaurants. They also have an in-house flower shop.

Haven't yet. Will have to grab that next time we want something in the area. :fnd (2):

Just drove by last week and wondered. Thanks for the recommendation. Will visit soon.

The Mr Hero at Brook Park and Broadview in the shopping center is pretty solid. Waffle fries are always crispy. Their Romanburger is always on point. The soda has the right mix of syrup and soda water.

Wife and I went to Cordelia, located in the former Lola spot on East 4th, tonight. Would highly, highly recommend. Really live and fun dining room and fantastic food. It was hard to believe they’ve only been open three weeks as everything moved very smoothly.

Before Rage, we hit up Indie, which went into Greenhouse Tavern's old spot.

It was good. Nothing special. Maybe a touch under Butcher and Brewer.

Had a lobster roll, cornbread, a salad, poutine. Think that was it. The lobster roll was good but small (and expensive). The poutine was just ok, but was a huge portion. Cornbread is good if you like sweet cornbread.

I’ve read mixed reviews on that place. From the pictures I’ve seen, it looks like they put a lot of effort in to renovating the space which I can appreciate.

It’s honestly just great to see them, Goma, Blue Agave and now Cordelia breathe some new life into the street. It was really hopping tonight and had great energy. That doesn’t happen without ambitious entrepreneurs taking a big leap of faith.

Is blue agave any good?

Goma is absolutely fantastic, and that's not just my Dante bias showing.

I think the pictures of Indie might look better than reality. It's a bright face-lift, but looks kinda barebones. I'm not a huge fan.

No idea on Blue Agave. A buddy told me he liked it. Same owners as Blue Habanero which, while nothing special, I’ve enjoyed previously.

Goma is on our list to try. Read great things about it.

Bummer to read about the Indie space.

I heard awful reviews of Blue Habanero, but I love Tres down in Fairlawn as a guilty pleasure. If there's an El Chavo and a Jumbo Cadillac margarita at Blue Agave, I'm in.

I'm not saying Indie looks bad. It's cool to see greenhouse open and bright. But after being there for five minutes sitting down you just notice how much it looks like barebones concrete and not a finished space.

Maybe that's just me being picky.

We only ate at Goma once. Haven't been out much with a new kid and all. But it was fantastic. Blew Ginko out of the water.

Blue Habanero is basically Tres Potrillos with a scaled back menu trying to look a bit more "upscale", if that makes sense. I believe pretty much everything on their menu is on Tres's menu. I don't think they have El Chavo- it's mostly street tacos and then maybe 10 entrees.

I think both places are significantly better than a lot of the other mexican I've tried in the area. Cozumel and Si Senor in particular I've been extremely unimpressed with.
