The "What are you playing now?" Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
A review is literally someone's subjective opinion on a product. There is no such thing as an objective review.
You can make a lot of objective observations such as input lag, resolutions and details, sound mixing, bugs, game length which they usually avoid outside of bugs and length with some very non technical observations of graphics and sound. Their technical details are sorely lacking. They don't mention framerate, they don't mention the platform they reviewed it on. So if it's on xbox does variable refresh rate work? They don't mention resolution, they don't mention or whether this game supports HDR... But they do complain about the fact that racism and sexism doesn't exist in this game.

I agree the review was lacking from a technical standpoint, but it largely focused on the story of the game, which is (obviously) the main appeal of this particular game, along with the gameplay. It's also a mutli-platform game so including technical details is more tricky since they may not have been able to review it on all platforms, or even more than one.

Not sure if it was Polygon or Kotaku but I laughed out loud at them “bristling” at the mention of the game’s setting as a colony. :chuckle:

Maybe I’m just a bastard.

Anyway, can’t beat the gamepass deal. Might still buy it eventually to support Obsidian though I doubt they need my money anymore.

I've had some flickering and hdr corruption issues with my tv. Samsung had one of their contractors out to take a look and determined that my mainboard was bad. SO they came out again and popped in a new one. Anyway, I go to play outer worlds last night and realize my tv can't be put into 120 hz and freesync is no longer supported. It turns out the 49 inch model of my tv doesnt do 120 hz or freesync. So these fucks swapped out my mainboard for the lower end model....

These people have been a nightmare. They wont come out on weekends, so I have to take time off of work to get this done. They actually do come out on Saturdays "if you are a special customer" their phone rep told me at which point I asked if I was, and she told me no.... I asked samsung to give me someone else, but they don't contract anybody else in my area. Worse yet, that mainbaord swap didn't even fix my initial issues. So all they really did was downgrade my tv.

Just finished borderlands 2. That's the first shooter I've picked up and played for more than a few minutes since Mass Effect Andromeda.

Played Remnant:From the Ashes with my brother. Game looked really cool, but I'm not a big fan. I just found it boring.

Tried to play FFXV, but found it boring as well. Haven't picked it back up in over a month, might just uninstall soon.

I've been tinkering with getting all my ROMs/emulators moved over to HyperSpin.

What system are you on?

PS4, but there is cross play compatibility from what I’ve read (I’ve left it off so far so I don’t play against keyboard and mouse people).
